I had to make this review because 3 days have passed and I’m still so disturbed by what actions took place and I just want to warn any future brides that if you’re planning on booking an event here, do it with another coordinator or call ahead to make sure that Joanne is in a good mood because she is very capable of ruining your day. Brace yourselves, it’s a lengthy one.
We had a meeting with Joanne on Saturday and the events that took place would drive any bride away. My sister was looking to have her events here and as a 2018 bride I joined this meeting just to make sure all the right questions are being asked. She messaged Joanne on wedding wire to see if we can book an appointment and the original date that we had in mind wasn’t going to work because there were events going on that day, so Joanne recommended another date and said that this would suffice. The day came for this appointment and when we walked into the hotel we were shocked at how super busy it was. It seemed like there was a conference going on, we waited for her in the lobby and she eventually came but from the get-go the vibes were off. She never introduced herself, She just asked for the bride didn’t even acknowledge the groom and she just started walking towards the direction of the hallway. She just started right then and there to ask questions: “when’s your date? What are you looking to have?” there are crowds and crowds of people walking past us we can barely hear her and she’s also wearing a mask. She started talking more about the details and I, as politely as possible, interrupted her and I said “I’m so sorry we can barely hear you is there anywhere quiet we can go sit down, possibly the ballroom?” and she looked at me like I had 6 eyes and said “there’s a conference going on I’m not sure if you can tell by all the people here? And the ballroom is not accessible to us right now. There’s an event going on” at this point my sister and I are kind of thinking to ourselves like what do you mean there’s an event going on? we change the original date because of you? you told us there was an event on that date and this day would work better. She eventually took us to the ballroom it was empty, however, they were putting all the tables and everything down and away so it was still really loud. So my husband had to guide us to a table and sit down so we can talk about details and this whole time she’s looking at us like we’re insane. Like how dare we come and discuss details about an event?? We mentioned how our family friend had an event here and for some odd reason she started lying about this person‘s event, starting with the date. When we caught her in this lie, she was unapologetic she didn’t even address the fact that she lied. She was just being completely rude about the whole situation and this was the turning point of the appointment for us. We decided to cut the meeting short but before we did, we made sure to address our concerns to her which looked like she didn’t give a damn about it! She sat there totally unbothered by the fact that you have four very disappointed clients in front of you who are telling you that your way of business is very rude, and she was about two seconds from rolling her eyes and yawning at us. She had no interest of having us as clients and that was very evident. This is the part that disturbed me most because how dare you ruin a brides experience because you just feel like it? Disturbing and disgusting behavior.
It was just bad from the beginning to the end and we were so disturbed by this behavior that we decided to leave reviews because we saw very positive reviews about her and we were just shocked but after my sister made a review on wedding wire about her, not even a minute passes by that her review was disputed and under investigation! That’s the point where we realized oh she’s removing all the negative reviews about her so that they’re just only positive reviews, what a scammer! Anyways, I hope any future bride proceeds with caution, because this was...

But as a local, I'm also responsible for informing my fellow citizens and government when something is going wrong, in case there is a trend, or it is just a one-off problem. I have always been proud to be part of the Tysons Corner community. This hotel does not, by any standards, meet expectations of business, or any, travelers- especially those within walking distance of Capital One's National Headquarters, hallmark of Tysons. Hilton might need to be more diligent when bestowing its hard-won name to subcontractors in this rapidly growing city. BUGS. MOLD. Dust/hair, oh my. Hotels close to the Capital One HQ nees to understand theyre representing not just Hilton, but the city, and America itself- the last guest in my room was a European business traveler. See below. Hosting business travelers is privilege not to be taken lightly; mistakes can make or break deals and build or destroy reputations. I have stayed in hotels all over the world. And until today, I could truthfully say it our local hotels are one of the best, and cleanest in the world. I booked this 4.5 star hotel very quickly, trusting the name and rating system, neither which I will trust again. The first thing I did when I got in the room was called the concierge, who was incredibly accommodating and friendly, to tell them I was done with my luggage cart. On the phone, I noticed heavy, thick white dust on the bedside table, phone, remote control, etc. I told myself it must be paper towel dust from cleaning, but remained alarmed, with warrant. Turned out to be to most unsanitary, generally unclean hotel room that I have booked in 3 years, and the worst 3 star hotel in Northern VA, as well as my first bad "Hilton" experience. The staff , concierge , and front desk have all been wonderful and lovely. I assume they might be understaffed in housekeeping, but that is absolutely no excuse. If they are understaffed, they should not open unclean rooms. The couch is covered in stains, the toilet is black, hair and black/red mold in the shower, unvaccumed floor... just see the pics. Primarily, my concern is that capital one, and Tyson's Corner itself, will lose business due to the disrespectful representation of our community by this hotel. The last guest in my room was clearly European as upon entry, I met: an Euro-outlet adapter, Celsius-set thermostat, and tube of German lipgloss. I can only imagine their disappointment and feelings of disrespect as they flew home. 2nd, but more worrisom, I suffer from severe autoimmune disease and a weak immune system. I get every type of infection, have had covid 4 times. Vaccines are ineffective for me so I tey to make the best business decisions for my health, and until now trusted Hilton. Greed/neglect led to this, and its particularly unforgivable - and EMBARRASSING- as a local, due to its proximity to the city center and metro. The cleaning staff is clearly overwhelmed & undervalued-- a dangerously irresponsible practice in 2022. The widely adopted industry standard priorities of safety, sanitization, community representation, and only THEN profit, assumed given when I booked this now 4.5 star rated (?) " Hilton", stripped my trust of the Hilton brand. This hotel "by Hilton" mimicked Hilton's current practice of maximizing profit over keeping its integrity. I am too disabled to move rooms or make other accommodations this late, why I always bring sanitizer, pillows, towels, just in case. I've never had to bring the items in, until today. Another embarrassing tip.. charging a menial wifi fee to business travelers who are staying at your hotel to WORK... it leaves a bad taste. Raise the room rate $5 and spare us the humiliation of having to pay for Wi-Fi as though we are flying a second rate Airline, not the guest of a world...
I was in a Mastes "wellness" Suite with my husband over the weekend and the first thing you will notice is that the revolving door keeps stopping wehen you walk through it even if you don't make any contact with it, which can lead to injuries...reading through other comments this has been an ongoing issue, why this small issue is not being resolved is beyond me, but it is spot on to how the hotel is run.
We usually only stay in Hilton hotels all over the world so honestly this one was a shock. After walking to our room over the outdated musty carpets the only thing you were able to smell was stale cigarettes and weed odor coming from the rooms. When we entered our assignt room it smelled horrendous...again musty...wet....and like cigarettes even though it was a non smoker room. We noticed the room was not the wellness room and went back to the reception were after going back and forth for awhile we were able to get the correct room, so that was somewhat pleasant.
Going back into the new room it was a giant room which was 90% empty there was only a bed and the long console table the TV was one which was far away from the bed. The wellness factor was the massage chair the room included which we were eager to try but we were disappointed quickly when we noticed it was sticky all over. The AC in the room does not cool and smells like cigarettes????and you cannot set it to lower then 65f which honestly only felt like 70f needless to say we were sweating all night.
The bathroom floor had tiny blood splatters on it and somebody smeared something in a different language all over the shower door which only became visible when you turned the shower on and the doors became steamy as they were covered in a thick white film...a cleaning product that did not get wiped off I assume.
At 2AM I was ready to leave this overpriced run down hotel but my husband already has room service breakfast booked for us. In the morning the breakfast came around almost 0900 eventough it was ordered for 0830 it all came in a BAG with plastic silverware. Horrible guest service for a Hilton and if it cannot be Hilton standard then don't over it at all in my opinion... especially since the breakfast was 2 eggs each, dry cold bacon, a chewy greasy blob of hash brown and no drinks for almost $70...what a highway robbery ...
When we checked out and walked to our car there was a kid throwing up outside and I honestly could not...
