There food is good. That is the only reason I am giving two stars. There food is actually extremely good and fresh. But the customer service is awful. The owner is always drunk sitting there. They are not friendly especially the owner. The workers get scolded and in trouble for even attempting to give an extra packet of sauce on to go orders. We have always continued to go back despite that but the last time we called in an order to go we were told what to order because they were busy. I called and asked for an order of hot and sour soup, 2 tempura rolls with avocado, cucumber and cream cheese added to the inside same way my boyfriend asks for it everytime(yes we asked to have a roll with something added but almost all other rolls have these things so it shouldn't be a big deal I thought) at this point we were told no we will make you just regular roll. Than silence for a about a minute in a half I could hear background noise. 2nd person picks up phone. I repeat what I have previously asked for he says OK and than I ask for a rainbow roll and a King of the sea roll( nothing added just what it is on their online menu). He asks you mean spicy scallop roll I say no the king of the sea roll he says no you have easy roll we make you spicy scallop we are busy. So I told them we will place order with someone else. Now if that's to much because they are busy than just tell us it will be a bit of a wait or something but to try to tell us what we are going to buy and have for dinner is not right. Read moreUpdate - Most of the issues mentioned below have now been fixed again. I hope the owner is doing well. I have been going to Anna's Bistro since it re-opened under this ownership but have not gone back in a while. First the positives:
Servings are large Prices aren't bad Cannot beat the lunch special serving size, options and price Sushi is good They deliver, which makes them one of a very short list of local places that does
Negatives (most of these used to be positives, but something has really gone downhill within the 1-2 years)
Food is often greasier than it needs to be. I used to love the fact that they used to cook with less oil and it didn't have that typical restaurant re-used oil taste. Delivery is often soggy and cold. It became expected for us to have pots ready to re-heat it once it arrived (which is a great way to reheat leftovers, by the way) I read through all of the reviews and it was no surprise to see comments about the owner lingering. He has always been around, but used to mostly stick to the register or sushi area. These days you can usually find him lingering while drunk, making awkward conversation and has even sat at our table without us asking us if he could join! This is the main reason we stopped going. Read moreFirst of all the food is way over priced, I should have turned around and got back in my car when I noticed the bad smell in the parking lot. I got egg rolls, orange chicken and combo fried rice. The rice was okay, I didn't love it, it had a little bit of flavor, at least it wasn't dry. The egg rolls, also okay nothing special, but not bad. The orange chicken was not okay. Well the top layer was descent. It didn't taste aweful, it didn't taste good. It didn't really have an orange flavor. At about the half way point I found big pieces of orange peel, and the taste was horrible. I've never tasted worse orange chicken before. I'm not sure if they messed it up, or if it always tastes like that. I know I am not going back, and I don't recommend anyone else go there, unless you like paying too much...
