3.5 stars. Overall I had a good stay at this Hampton Inn.
Pros: Free breakfast, including to go bags at the front desk which includes some fruit, a pastry, and a water bottle. Hot water and coffee always available at the front desk. Across the street from Walmart. (I hate Walmart, but if you need supplies, at least it's walking distance.) Across the street from Starbucks. Close to Hwy 101. Clean and spacious rooms with a fridge and microwave. And my room had 2 sinks, one inside the bathroom and one outside, so it made it easier for 4 women to get ready on time. (I reserved a room with 2 queen beds and a balcony.) Decent gym with 3 machines and free weights. Friendly staff.
Cons: The savory items at breakfast aren't tasty. They need to do a focus group on that. I guess they are trying to be different by serving up eggs in a different way, but they don't look good. I would rather have them just scrambled. The other items available, especially the waffles, are good. Our room had a funky smell, like old bologna. I think it's because they steam-cleaned the carpet, but didn't dry it thoroughly. We sprayed Lysol into the vent and covered it with a wet towel. Still didn't work. And we couldn't leave the balcony door open because it was too cold outside. Far from the downtown area. And don't even think about getting a ride-share. Either drive or find a number for a local cab company before heading out.
From the looks of things, it looks like they're going to build more stores in that block. I foresee it being a more walkable area after the construction is finished.
And it was really quiet during our stay there. Though I have to note my stay was from a Sunday-Tuesday and not during tourist season.
I am a Hilton Honors member, so I would stay here again considering I usually get...
Read moreI would give NO STARS! My family, and I went to Ukiah for a wedding. We were very excited about our trip! When we got to the hotel, Rosa was the woman working the front desk was down right rude to my husband and 9 yr old daughter as they came in(my daughter was shocked at how. mean she was to them and didn't quit talking about it). My husband is very kind and tries to make anyone he comes in contact with smile!!! She said the room was not ready, we waited and went back when she told us to. At that time, she told us there was no room for us and we would have to call our event host about the reservation. Our host came and got the situation handled. Rosa told us she would call us by 12pm so we could get our kids in the room and rest from our travel. Rosa called us at 1:45 pm saying our room was ready. We got back to the hotel only to find out that there was NO ROOM FOR OUR FAMILY. At this point Naomi was working the front desk and said she doesn't know what happened. So as we are waiting AGAIN with our 5 kids, they call Rosa back down. Rosa comes down and says, oh, I don't know what happened. There was another man that came in who looked exactly like you(a black man) and I accidentally gave him your room and there are no other rooms available, my mistake, I don't know what you're going to do. , Naomi overhears and ask her, why doesn't she put us in another room, and she says there are no other rooms. At that point, Naomi said. Well, you had just said earlier that there was a 2 queen available, why don't you give them that. Long story short Racist Rosa gave our room to my husbands twin!!!! As a result we spent ALL DAY in a minivan with 3 kids and 2 babies 👶👶🍼. We have not heard anything from the hotel since. No apology nothing! We will definitely not be going with any Hilton properties from...
Read moreEverything about this hotel was above average.|The staff was great, friendly, helpful, responsive. An example is I responded to their text that I could use a couple towels and 5 minutes later they were at my room's door with them.||Food, the complimentary breakfast was better than 90% of hotels at this level. This isn't a fancy place but the food was good, fresh and plentiful. Waffles, premade omelets, breakfast meats, potatoes, pastries, bagels, hardboiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, drinks. My wife liked the watermelon water they had which is different.||The pool and hot tub were clean and in good repair. As a former certified pool operator who managed 6 pools this pool and hot tub is 9/10. Clean, pH well balanced, chlorine didn't sting our eyes or smell, all copping tiles, and surfaces were in good repair, plentiful seating, great balance of shade and sun. Heated to very comfortable temperatures. Not too crowded even on a weekend.||The room and hotel were both in good repair and well designed. Everything just worked. Basically no complaints. Room had all the basics like fridge and microwave. Comfortable on the firm side beds.|Location wise it was very convenient. Easy access from and to highway 101. Costco with gas, Walmart, grocery store, all within half a mile. The Walmart and Foodmaxx(grocery store, think Winco or Food4less) were directly across the street and an easy walk. Starbucks, Panda Express, Applebee's, Jack In the Box, and local restaurants within walking distance.||Plenty of convenient parking. None of the spots were inconvenient and there were plenty. We were there on a weekend in May ||10 out of 10 recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place to stay in Ukiah. My 6 year old wanted to...
