Spiro's Gyros & Deli — Restaurant in Ukiah

I have reviewed quite a few restaurants, delis, etc, and this is my favorite places, hands down. Their food is unparalleled in quality. The environment is calming and wonderful. Highly doubt you will ever see an unhappy customer. The owner is one of the kindest people I've met. He always greets you with a smile, listens and is helpful. You can tell that he puts his heart and soul into the food they make and you can tell when you eat it. Flavor is absolutely amazing. I got the philly cheesesteak steak sandwich which blew me away on the quality. He sliced the meat right when I order it. The bread, steak, cheese, and everything included was absolutely incredible! It was definitely the best philly cheesesteak I've ever had. I've had quite a few over the years from various places but none as good as this. It's great when you see he has repeat customers that gave me advice. Once you try it, you'll definitely be going back. I have never liked lamb, but that's just me personally. A customer suggested trying some lamb, and the owner was kind enough to give me a sample. I was actually blown away. It was amazing, and changed my outlook on lamb. I believe it's there best selling Gyro for good reasons. It's rare when you find a place that has all healthy food and a wide variety for all tastes even vegetarian. Small businesses like this who don't cut corners and make everything with pride make this place stand out. Dont take just my word for it. Stop by and try this place for yourself. You will be greeted with a smile and guaranteed you'll be going back. I'm hungry now just thinking about the place and food. I can't recommend this place enough. This place has a such welcoming atmosphere. The lady that took our order was super sweet. And the cook had a certain funness about him. When my friend asked what "everything" meant, the cooked ended the list with "all good things". Made me chuckle. Anyway, I got the lamb gyro with everything (lettuce, tomato, tatziki sauce) and the house fries. The latter came highly recommended. Both were delicious, I loved every bite! Also love that the fries came in a Chinese takeout box. And dang are they fast. They handed us or gyros and fries not 5 minutes after ordering. After a long camping trip, we stopped here and got a falafel gyro, fries and dolmas. It was so friggin good, we got another gyro, this time lamb. It was also beyond delicious. And the service was personable, friendly and welcoming! We saw that this was the case with everyone that came in to pick up orders.

When we were done, we ordered a few small things to go and chatted with the owner a bit. As we were leaving, we realized it was just past closing time, yet we never felt rushed or treated like we were a nuisance for being there at closing time. In fact, it was the complete opposite!
