Ordered for a GrubHub pick up one Saturday morning. I had the egg and cheese sandwich and added sausage. The bread was nice and fluffy, and I liked the Mexican cheese (instead of a typical American cheese for brekkie sammies), but there could have been a bit more sausage in there. My fiance had one of the 'Mexican breakfast' dishes - the Chilaquiles Verdes (served with rice, lettuce, 2 eggs, cheese, avocado and sour cream with choice of 1 meat - chicken, beef, pork carnitas, sausage or enchilada meat). We went with the enchilada meat, which was kind of tough. I know chilaquiles will be soggy but this was kind of just a soggy mess. It was almost like a tortilla soup. Also the avocados were an odd color - I didn't even realize they were avocados, I thought they were cooked green bell peppers at first. The flavor of the green salsa was good though.
I think maybe breakfast is not their forte. But I would be willing to try some of the other many, many menu items here. Although sometimes, when the menu is too big, it's not a good sign. I guess there's only one way...
Read moreI recently visited Azteca Taqueria Restaurant, and it was a highly disappointing experience. First and foremost, the place is vastly overrated. Despite hearing good things, my visit was nothing short of a letdown.
The restaurant itself was filthy. Tables were sticky, and the floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in days. Cleanliness is a basic expectation for any dining establishment, and Azteca Taqueria failed miserably in this regard. The health dept should show up here!
To make matters worse, the owner is incredibly cheap. It was evident that corners were being cut everywhere. Portions were small, and the ingredients didn’t seem fresh. When I politely addressed some of these issues with the owner, he was dismissive and rude.
Overall, I would not recommend Azteca Taqueria Restaurant. Save your time and money and find a place that values its customers and maintains basic standards of cleanliness...
