China Star — Restaurant in Union

Im a customer who spent a lot of money and tips very well. I ordered Chicken Lo Mein with carrots No Onions. My food arrived with pork in it. I called to complain about this order. I didn't go off, nor was I rude when complaining about the food. The lady on the phone got angry with me and asked if it was little or a lot of pork. I said Ma'am it doesn't matter how much pork is in it." The fact is there's pork in my food, and I don't eat pork." I can send you a picture. I just received it, and I didn't pick through it to see how much pork was in it. It's right on the top. I replied. She got very angry and began to speak in her language laugh and hung up the phone. I called back requesting a refund. Moments later, the driver showed up with food and no refund. I didn't want the food after how I was treated over the phone. If you do not eat pork, don't order from here. I just learned that they cook everything in the same pans without cleaning, and if you have pork in your food and complain, you will not get a REFUND!!! THEY DON'T DO REFUNDS!!!!! THEY JUST LOST A GOOD CUSTOMER. I WISH THEM ALL THE BEST. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN RESOLVED AND HANDLED DIFFERENT IF SHE WOULD HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT HER...

Very disappointed used to order from this place from time to time very bad experience. order my food never came on time there must be a young New girl behind the counter. doesn't get the orders right confuses a lot of things. I have to go somewhere else unfortunately. The quality is not there anymore. And when you place an order and they don't deliver it on time and argue with the customer that they delivered it and I never received the food it's upsetting when you're that hungry. They did not correct the situation therefore I will find another...

Consistently one of the best Chinese takeout restaurants for the past 30 years. I grew up two blocks away and lived here and there. Tried numerous chinese takeouts all over NJ but nothing compares.

Sounds biased, bc maybe I just seek the nostalgia in food connected to memories. However, my cousins who have lived around the tri state area and traveled much of the globe also profess their loyalty to China Star. It seems no matter how far any of us live, we always come back. That's a testament in and of itself. Next time we order, I'll post pictures...
