I have to be honest and it makes me so sad cause the manager was super kind. But let’s talk about my experience. I was doing some Uber eats on the side and picked up from here and the food looked outstanding. The menu also looked great. So i packed up my wife, 2 year old, and mother in law on a Sunday night to go in and eat here. We arrived an HOUR before closing. Not 10 minutes, not even 30 minutes, a full hour, expecting to be able to sit and eat our food hot and fresh. When ordering, there is a sign that says to follow them for 20% off, immediately the girl forgot to put the 20% off. We didn’t notice until after and the nice manager said she would throw in a couple slices of cake extra. Okay cool, well our food took FORTY FIVE MINUTES. There was only one other person in there we we arrived, it was busy AFTER we ordered. So after 45 minutes, they just bag up our food. I saw people dining in earlier and there are tables and chairs. The girl at the counter never asked dine in or take out, i was assuming she just knew we wanted to dine in since i took my entire family out of the house to come here on a Sunday night. If dining in wasn’t an option because they knew my food would take 45 minutes, they should have said that straight up. I would have left, gone elsewhere, and tried again by calling in an order and picking it up. But no communication at all, they just bagged up our stuff and sent us on our way. I had a conversation with the manager earlier so she knew it was our first time, and service alone so far was not a great impression. And if you’re gonna take THAT long you better absolutely deliver on the food, but our tots and mac and cheese sat on the counter for 20 minutes waiting for the meat. Naturally the tots became mush and the mac and cheese was way too greasy. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy but needed some seasoning. My mother in law enjoyed her catfish and i thought the banana pudding was outstanding but besides that everything else was very middle of the road. I want to reiterate that the manager was very kind, but the overall communication was super poor which led the an experience that will unfortunately be our last. I’m Not here to spew a bad rhetoric honestly, i just want them to see the criticisms and get better. So sad...
Read moreUpdate: I am truly disappointed, I have been a loyal customer of yours since day one. Your food use to be so very good! What on earth happened? For the fifth time in a consecutive row my food was just awful. My catfish was soggy, sponge like, very salty, Mac and cheese just full of cheese and no flavor, looked like it was reheated multiple times, yams super watery, under cooked and no flavor!!!!! Taste like you just opened the can and put it in the container!!!Cmon!!! I have reached out to you before about my experience and how it has went downhill to let you correct. Look I am all for a black owned business thriving and I want people to succeed but you have to be consistent and passionate about your business and that starts with correcting it. The to go containers are awful as well, better in a platter container instead of separate. Only way a business thrives is by cooking with love and passion and for the last 5 times ordering, I am no longer a customer. I spent way too much money on less than mediocre microwaved food. Please do better as I want to see you grow, take the criticism as a sign and not anything bad, but to apply it and work on doing better. If your food can taste like how it use to, I promise you will succeed far beyond this.
Previous review:
I would say the food has been good twice now on two different days. I love a place that is consistent. Mac n cheese is good, yams good and catfish is good. One thing I do not care for is the cornbread, cornbread needs some work. Overall 9.5/10 yes the food...
Read moreGood afternoon, I am the office manager at a mental health program. At present, we do not have a cook for our agency and I am trying to provide nutritious meals for our clients that they might not otherwise have. I have been ordering from local restaurants for months now and am trying to offer our clients more nutritious meals. I have been reaching out to local restaurants requesting mini-meals or lowering the price for combo orders to meet our budget of $10/person with guaranteed orders of 25-35 meals at minimum once/week. So far, I have been able to secure two restaurants that will deliver to our agency by noon for our client and staff meals. When I called today, I asked specifically to speak with the owner or a manager. The young lady that answered explained to me that she was not in the store right now and asked what the call was in reference to. I explained and she was very quick to tell me that there was nothing on the menu other than chicken wings at that price point. I took the time to explained that I am attempting to give your restaurant business. That I was not attempting to get a discount on a few meals and gave my number for the manager/owner to reach out and further discuss my request. However after further thought, that interaction left a very bad taste in my mouth and we are no longer interested in placing an order with your restaurant. You might want have a conversation with staff regarding interactions with potential large...
