We came here for dinner around 6:00pm. The restaurant was not very busy. Our waitress was very nice. But was very new, which is fine. She told my wife and I she was still learning, and in my option she was doing well. We ordered a chicken quesadilla, and spinach and artichoke dip. Which was basically just Philadelphia cream cheese with around 5 artichoke leaves, was absolutely terrible, our waitress had just brought us our appetizers, left the table and then brought back our meal 30 seconds later, which was wings and my wife got a fish sandwich. She said I guess the kitchen doesn’t know what appetizer means. I told her this isn’t your fault, but I don’t want that, we haven’t even started eating this yet. She said she understood and took it back to the kitchen. When she returned you could tell she was upset. We finished our appetizers, and she came back and asked us if we were ready for our meals which was About 15 mins later. We said we were, and I told her if the kitchen was just going to send back out the same food we sent back. We don’t want it. At which point she said she would go tell them. A “manager” came over and said I hear we have some trouble over here. To which I replied we had just gotten out appetizers and 2 seconds later she brought out our meals, she even told us she told the kitchen they were appetizers. He said o ok not a problem, I told him the spinach dip was terrible, it just tasted like cream cheese, and there was 5 artichokes in it. He said o I’m sorry and took the plates and walked away. We waited again while they made us new food (they were 100% going to bring us the 25 mins sitting under a heat lamp food) our waitress was visibly shaken up. But was still holding it together, I said to her I use to work here years ago, and I know you can’t say anything, but are they going to make you pay for that food? She looked at me and said “I don’t know” I said don’t worry about it. The rest of the meal was fine. She brought over the bill. Which the manager didn’t take care of any of it. We figured at least they would take the artichoke dip off. They did nothing, which by all means, I’m not looking for a free meal, but service is service and the service we got from the kitchen was terrible. Our waitress came over, I told her none of this is your fault, when I was here years ago it was not like this. I made sure she wasn’t going to be paying for the remade food out of her pocket if you get what I’m saying. When we left I made sure to physically hand her a very good tip. And told her she was doing a great job and none of this was her fault.
The management should be ashamed. This place use to be rocking all night long. The bar would be packed. People would be waiting for the pool tables to be open. And it was standing room only at the bar. With a wait list for the dinning room. Tonight there were maybe 20 people in the entire place.
I’m not just speaking from my ass. I have a bachelors of science degree in hospitality management and am certified culinary and completed my culinary externship in Las Vegas working at Delmonico’s Steakhouse, in the Venetian hotel & casino, The way they treat their waitresses is terrible. They should not have to pay for the kitchens mistake and be belittled to the point guests could see what was happening.
I will...
Read moreUpdate: Just went back after several months, finally seated quickly, served quickly, and incredible food with friendly service the whole night! Thank You Sharkeys!
You went from 1 to 5 stars in one visit please keep up the good job!
Food is average service is slightly below average - not impressed won't be going back anytime soon.
Update:
This place went from 3 stars to 4.5 stars and a place I would dine a few times a month. Now we are one star! The past few times I went there I wrote off the poor service to Covid-19 related problems cause although the service was a slow the food was excellent!
Today 2/23/2022 I went there with my fiancé, and it took about 15 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge we existed to be seated. Finally, after being seated our waitress took our orders.
The waitress had half the price of my chicken marsala taken off and where that was a nice attempt to correct the problem, I ate 3 or 4 bites and did not even take rest home because it tasted so bad. so, I paid half price of a whole meal for 3 or 4 bites.
The waitress also brought another bowl of soup for my fiancé to take home. This was an ok solution although still disappointing it had to be done at all.
After a long discussion with my fiancé, we agreed the slow service on the past several visits topped with the poor food this visit we will not be returning the Sharkey's any time soon! This news is saddening and comes with a heavy heart as for a long run they had been one of my favorite places to go to!
With rising prices due to inflation, we cannot justify the cost for food I won't / can't eat especially with many other options to...
Read moreLet’s start with the positives, this is a really nice place with an awesome layout!! You can choose from sitting indoors like a regular bar or in an open air area or even outside on the deck. A restaurant with this type of layout is fantastic! It even has a downstairs that houses indoor golf and other activities. Now onto the food. I ordered the buffalo wings and the wife got the pierogies. The wings were good until I got to a drum that was raw on the inside. I left the drum on the plate with all the meat pulled down so that the bartender could see, she picked up my stuff looked at it, shrugged her shoulders and proceeded to throw it out. My wife’s first order of pierogies came out and the Pittsburgh Penguins could have used them as hockey pucks!! Said something to the bartender who in turn had to show them to another worker who appeared to give the okay to return to the kitchen for a new order. New order was just okay. Seemed to me that they just take frozen Mrs T’s and dropped them in the deep fryer. The other thing that I found annoying was that all the workers appeared to treat the place like it was their own social club. In between an occasionally check in, which was far and few, they all would meet up by the service station talking and ignoring the entire place. Melina B is the name on our check but don’t know if she was the one serving us because she didn’t introduce herself nor did we interact enough with each other to even be able to ask her. As with all of the places I visit, I will give it another try if in the area but if this establishment works on the staff and tweaks the food they would have a great...
