Came here upon the recommendation of a family friend, whose daughter worked there during college. Upon seeing the outside I was very eager to try it out. looked like a no frills Tex-Mex joint with the name right out of a Lonesome Dove novel - just my kind of joint. Pros: fast service, despite being a busy Saturday night. Friendly staff. Price (97$ for 4 adults, 2 kids, no alcohol). Good portions. Cons: I’m going to be as courteous and as objective as possible. I ordered their version of the Chile relleno, and although it tasted alright, frankly the spicy ground beef filling, and ranchera sauce, was reminiscent of eggplant Parmesan. More nostalgic of an Italian dish than Tex Mex. I’d definitely come back for chips queso, drinks, and a good vibe. They were also very accommodating with our family. And the server was on point. For those reasons alone I’d recommend, but for something more authentic…. I’d stick to their enchiladas, pollo poblado, something like that.

This spot and this little region in Highland park doesn't get enough attention. This Tex-Mex joint was delicious with sizable portions. They truly embrace the "everything is bigger in Texas" mentality compared to other restaurants. It's great value. The brisket tacos are a must try and the chicken fajita tacos were excellent as well. Only thing is that the chicken fajita tacos don't come with rice and beans, which is a bit unfortunate but definitely better than most restaurants we have been to. Brisket was shredded and saturated in the juices 🔥🤤 If you like brisket, you will love these tacos. It has a great lively atmosphere. Like a proper bar vibe. Dimmly lit, loud music, and full of people laughing and having a good time. If you are looking for a more intimate evening, you won't likely get that here though lol it's fun and loud. It can be difficult to hear which is the only negative I have to say about this place. We will definitely be coming here again! 💯

Banditos has been in Snyder Plaza as long as I can remember, so it’s a staple. We went on a Sunday around 11 AM when they just opened the doors. The restaurant has a strong smell of Pine-Sol in the early hours (confirmed twice), which does suggest it’s clean, but the smell can be overpowering. The service was phenomenal; our server was friendly, funny and attentive. We had the loaded queso, which is excellent and went with chicken fajita nachos. The “big” order comes with 6 nachos, the “bigger” order comes with 12. They’re a little greasy from the cheese, but delicious. Very crunchy, thick chips, lots of cheese, and it comes with all the fixings. Great place to grab a lunch and Snyder Plaza has shopping after a few margaritas.

I don’t like giving one stars but this was probably the worst experience I’ve had at any restaurant before. Upon meeting some friends for dinner I was never greeted once seated and never got a glass of water. I tried waving down our waiter several times and was ignored. I was able to get the attention finally of another server and got a drink. Later on one of our friends got a margarita and decided to get 2 they brought out 2 8oz glasses and later we found out he was charged $25 for them instead of bringing out the 18oz glass that was only $15. We were confused on why they did that and they told us we have to specifically ask for that larger glass. Even though every time we’ve been there we automatically got the larger glass. The server became irritated and told us we can speak to the manager and so we did the manager, most likely still in college came over and was very immature. He asked us why we were arguing and instead of finding a solution told us there’s nothing they can do, and walked away. It seemed weird but we weren’t to aggravated by the situation and went back to having a good time. The waiter came by and drop off our check, left then while walking past with a drink for another table i turned and was about to give him my card but out of know where the server behind him told him and I quote “don’t listen to those Fgts” I was confused as to if I heard that correctly because it was out of nowhere. My friend and I stood up and confronted the server who said that towards us. He said it wasn’t directed at us but clearly it was. The whole situation began to escalate. It was eventually calmed down by the only clear headed worker there and we stepped outside to talk with him he apologized for his coworkers and gave us each $25 gift card. But the experience was awful. Also they told us that worker will have a “long talking to” but in my opinion calling your quests that derogatory word should have more consequences then...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Banditos Tex Mex Cantina in Snyder Plaza, and I am beyond impressed with the entire experience! This was a first-time visit for my fiancé and me, and I can confidently say it won't be our last.

From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the charming setup. The ambiance is absolutely adorable – a perfect blend of warmth and Tex-Mex flair.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the food. It was nothing short of fantastic! Each dish we ordered was a culinary delight, bursting with flavors that left our taste buds dancing. The menu offers a wonderful variety, and the prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality of the dishes.

I must commend our server for the exceptional service we received. Kudos to Alex for creating such an inviting atmosphere! She was attentive, friendly, and truly made us feel like valued guests. It's evident that the staff at Banditos takes pride in providing top-notch service.

Rarely do my fiancé and I venture out, but Banditos Tex Mex Cantina was a treat we won't soon forget. If you're in the Snyder Plaza area and craving delicious Tex-Mex cuisine, do yourself a favor and check out this gem. You won't be disappointed!

Thank you, Banditos, for an unforgettable dining experience. We can't...
