Real Review from a Local Vietnamese Foodie – Pho Planet in Upland

Let me start by saying this: I wasn’t paid to write this. I’m Vietnamese, born and raised on Pho, and I’m local—so I know what I’m talking about.

Pho Planet is a new Vietnamese restaurant that just opened in Upland, and I stopped by on a quiet Friday night around 8 PM (they close at 9). There were only two of us dining in, so it was peaceful and relaxing.

Atmosphere: The inside is clean, modern, and bright—great lighting and a welcoming vibe. Calm piano music played softly in the background, adding to the chill ambiance. There’s also outdoor seating if you prefer to eat outside.

Parking: Super easy. It’s located in a small shopping plaza with plenty of open spots.

The Food: I ordered the Special Pho ($17), and honestly, it hit the spot. The broth was rich and flavorful, with that deep color that tells you they took their time with it. You don’t need to add hoisin or sriracha (but I did anyway out of habit). The meatball was cut small—perfect for easy bites (no jaw workout required). The noodles were solid, and they gave a decent portion of fresh veggies on the side.

Overall: Pho Planet is coming in strong. Other local pho spots better pay attention—this place is doing it right. I’ll...

When I say this place has everything you need, it has everything you need. With a whole pho experience. It has some of the best tasting Vietnamese food in the area. I suggest a filet mignon pho, shrimp, stirfry noodles, shrimp, fried rice, and the noodle salad.. the noodle salad was super sweet and it blew mind because I did not expect it to taste so good. The food was all filling and I recommend this place for just a nice lunch or if you wanna bring your family and friends for a big dinner. You can get a big dinner and your family stay out here.. The staff was really good and nice and the inside is nice and clean and has a good feng shui. Jward the foodie approves....

New favorite pho spot in the IE. They play very calming music in the background for a nice ambiance. Our food came quickly and was very good. Looked amazing and tasted great. Another review said they tasted low to no msg and that's very true. Our meals had a fresh quality taste vs being saturated in oils like many places. Our waiter was very nice and we enjoyed the 30% off for grand opening deal. Another group of friends were eating next to us, told the waiter they were there the previous night and this is their new favorite local spot. We agreed. The mango salad was awesome, great flavor.
