Colonial Kitchen — Restaurant in Upper Darby

Ordered from Colonial Kitchen today, and I have to say the service was poor. I placed an order for my coworkers and myself, and honestly the food was run of the mill to good. The cheeseburger club was mediocre with the patty being overcooked and the sandwich itself being overwhelmed with toppings. the cheese steak wrap was good, could have been toasted more, but was solid. The gyro platter was ok, the fries were soggy, and the salad unappetizing. The gyro meat itself is exactly what you should expect from most greek style pizza shops, precooked, reheated, beef lamb formed strips, with a slightly bland tzatziki sauce. Finally the Tuna Salad Hoagie, being very good, two of my coworkers ordered this sandwich. One was ordered with everything, lettuce, tomato, onions, etc, while the other was ordered with just tuna salad and the roll. I know I ordered it plain because I said it three times, stating just the salad and the roll. The operator taking the order asked me to confirm and I did three times. Once the food arrived, my coworkers and I started to eat our lunch. The plain tuna salad hoagie, came with Lettuce Tomato and Onion on it. This is a problem for my coworker because he is allergic to tomatoes. In his frustration he gave the sandwich to another coworker that didn't order because he had to get something else. I called back to let Colonial Kitchen know, and the first thing I was greeted with was rudeness from their operator saying, "YOU ONLY SAID NO CHEESE!" practically yelling at me over the phone. I corrected her and said, "No I told you three times, salad and roll only." She finally says, "Fine, we will send it out, but you have to send that one back." Unbeknownst to me at the time, my coworker had already given the sandwich to another coworker, so I called back and cancelled the second sandwich. With the amount of vitriol spewed from that one employee, I don't see myself, or my colleagues giving our business to Colonial Kitchen again. I ordered my food through doordash and I ordered it I remember that they messed up my food back in 2024 and I called them and let them know not to overcook my chicken for my chicken parm and the young ladies said okay and told me she take care of it and I get my food and the chicken is overcooked Legos cook like they do chicken wings fried hard I don't want my chicken parm cooked like that I need to be just cooked so it's not too hard just perfect and they gave me a hard time told me that I called in 2024 because of a complaint I said yeah I said you guys ain't perfect you're not going to get it right all the time but if I don't call you but I didn't know if you that you were keeping a record on how many times I called you and complained about the way you guys fix my food so I asked her is that why you hit me a hole for 5 minutes you had time to look at your notes to see you when I called back and complained a year ago which was the only time I called they she gave me a hard time and told me to call doordash when I called her it asked them not to overcook it and she tells me to call doordash to revive it don't fuk with you I'm telling you once they get your money they don't care cuz they're going to put it off on doordash or Uber whoever well they're the ones that made the mistake not doordash not Uber they leave you hanging and you get what you get even off to bring the food back tomorrow I'm diabetic and I just needed something on my stomach because I took my medication I don't cook because I don't trust myself cooking when my...

Pretty typical pizza place. Primary complaints are that their chicken cheesesteak is NOT a chicken cheesesteak, it’s just a grilled chicken hoagie since they put strips of grilled chicken in the roll. Also, I wish pizza places would stop writing lasagna on their menu if it’s not actually lasagna, and just their own concoction. The lasagna here is many layers of lasagna strips on top of each other (dry much??? No sauce or cheese in between?) topped with sausage, ladle of sauce, and cheese. They use sausage, not even proper meat sauce.

Also, ordered a veggie pizza the other day which was disappointing. It seems like they forgot it was a veggie pizza so they piled on the veggies AFTER the plain pizza was cooked….the veggies were all raw and just not what you’d expect in a veggie pizza.
