I just don't understand how this Bacco location continues to get so many positive ratings? We live local, and we are a 2nd Gen. Italian family. My husband and I had an 800pm Reservation on Sat. For our 21 Yr. Anniversary. We arrive On-Time to an empty vestibule. We were told no tables were available and said wait a few mins. 8:15pm, Still no tables available and the young lady asked us if could eat outside!? We declined. While the rain had stopped, it was still chilly out. Finally, at 8:26pm we were seated in a table in a very loud corner near the live band. Our waiter, was prompt, but seemed to be caught off-guard he was getting another table; his section was already full. We ordered drinks, which were good and perfectly prepared. We then had Apps and Salad. In all, nothing great, but acceptable. We asked for fresh bread, but it never came. Finally, after a bit of a wait, our main course meals (Specials) came out. See Photos. I had the Stuffed Chicken Ripieno. The Chicken was dry and fell off the bone from being overcooked. The Ripieno stuffing inside was cold and very bland. The stuffing was mostly spinach, that really was not seasoned at all. The potato Croquet was a nice side dish, but initially too hot to eat. My husband had the Veal & Eggplant Cutlet Parmigiano. This dish was really good and the Veal was tender. However, it had way too much garlic for our tastes. Our waiter kind of forgot about us during main course, I guess because we were stuck in the corner, and he had two other large tables. Finally came time for dessert. The same typical boring options as every other mid-scale restaurant for 100 miles. No Gelato or Sugar free options. We just shared a Cannoli, which was stale. Oh, And there was never not one mention of our Anniversary, which was clearly marked on our reservation. In all, we did not get the warm and fuzzies at Bocco like we do when we drive into Philly and go to our usual favorite Bistro Romano! Unless, you frequent here weekly or know someone on the staff, you're just a annoyance here, and you'll get sub-par north Italian fare at fairly reasonable prices. I would stay away from the daily specials, and go with their menu favorites. We were really hoping for a special warm & inviting dining, but it never materialized here. Oh, we were not offered a free drink or anything for waiting 26 mins. for a table, WITH a valid Reservation. shameful. You have a great product, just need better execution and...
Read moreSo. Where to begin. We made reservations, the restaurant was packed. The waitress finally came over after 10 min and took our drink order. It took 35 min to get the drink. ??? One of our party members had to go look for the drink. I ordered one of the specials - it was prime rib. ( great ) Now keep in mind we are there already an hour and the food hasn’t come yet. The waitress is no where to be found ?? What we do see is the fantastic waiter catering to the next table. I asked him his name and he said Massimo. He was fantastic. Our waiter ?? No where to be found. The food finally came and I looked at the steak. I said I ordered prime rib. I asked the other waiter if he thought that I had prime rib in front of me. Prime rib is unmistakable. It pink and it a roast beef, Erica came over and told me that it was prime rib . I laughed and showed her what prime rib looked like. There are 1000’s of pics of prime rib on line. So she started arguing with me. Meanwhile no manager or the owners who were at the bar drinking never once came over . The manager Vitoria finally came over and acted surprised when I showed her what prime rib looks like. The manager should know what is taking place in her restaurant. You can’t pawn off a 2 dollar top round steak for a $30 prime rib. The problem was all the other customers who ordered it thinking it’s prime rib. What a shame.. the drink that we ordered was still sitting untouched due to the late arrival of it. Not once were we asked if there was an issue. We paid the bill and left the drink. Btw I was not charged for the so called prime rib because I didn’t eat it. I left and we ate a great meal elsewhere. The owners are clueless ( while being present at the bar drinking) below is the pic of of the steak being passed off as prime rib. Who grills prime rib ???
Update 12/12/19 .. still no response from the owners ?? What a shame.
Update 1/4/20 . I’ve run into quite a few people that have read my review and they too have expressed their displeasure with Bacco. I’ve still yet to see a response from an owner ??
Update 1/31/20 so as you can see still no comment from any owner , let me show you what prime rib looks like from a fast food joint. Boston market actually has dam good prime rib !! Take a look 👀. Maybe bacco can get their Prime Rib here and let me know how it...
Read moreFour of us decided to eat at Baccos on Saturday night and walked in at 7:00 pm. We were told the wait would be 30-35 minutes and "probably less". One hour and 15 minutes later, we were seated at a table next to the door to the kitchen. We then looked over the menu using our flashlights on our phones b/c the lighting was so bad, we couldn't read the menu. Our waiter came and asked for our beverage order and things got going well with drinks being served and water. Then the bread arrived and oil, but the bread was so rock hard, we could barely eat it. Our dinner finally arrived one hour and 20 minutes later. When we said something about how long we waited for the dinner to come out, our waiter said "I don't cook the food". For $21, mine was chicken with a little bit of spinach on top and a side of potato (which had so much sugar in it, I couldn't taste any potato) and everyone's dinner was lukewarm. We got no salad, no soup or anything else but the meat & the potato. We ate the dinner and then waited another 20 minutes for our waiter to ask if we would like dessert. We said no and please just bring the check. So the waiter brought us our check and said "this is your lucky day b/c your dinner check went to another group and you are getting theirs, which is about $13 dollars less"! And he was very excited about this - meanwhile, I felt very bad that another party paid for our meals and didn't even realize it. Very poor customer service ---poor wait time and food was not that great. Would not recommend. The entertainment of singing was however, very enjoyable, which is probably why we waited so long for a table, b/c the people were sitting listening to the music and not leaving after dinner. The whole experience took 3 hours and was very stressful instead of relaxing. Will not...
