Food- Calamari was very CHEWY! Definitely frozen product. Pizza was either a par-baked or premade crust. Goat cheese tasted like mostly ricotta mixed with too much wine and had no seasoning. The fig jam on top is definitely costing them money. They could do a smaller amount. In fact, the gooey toppings were generous but lacked flavor. Some fresh herbs and salt would have been great! Crust has to go. $20 check
Atmosphere- Outdated music and decor. Felt like the early 80s, but not in an intentional or fun way. The music was sappy 70s love songs. Over and over. Clean. Hotel like decor on walls. Also, we saw six TVs from our seat but there seemed to be more in an adjacent space! No romance there.
Service - Our server was of an age that should be confident in their vocation but was awkward and extremely nervous. Outdated service steps. Food is served, as in a diner, on large trays with stands and a desserttray is presented by servers as well. The young lady, I think one of the several managers on duty, who served our food asked if we wanted RANCH with our Goat Cheese & Fig pizza!!!!
Drinks - Being a bartender, I found the vigorously pre-shaken cocktails left in the tins & poured tableside to be the reason other reviewers have found their cocktails "watered down". Also, the bartender lost the top of her shaker and spilled the contents on her table. Besides serving better tasting cocktails, there would be an opportunity to up their garnish game if the cocktails were served in glasses.
We are locals, in our late 30s and early 40s, both working in restaurants and we live 15 minutes away but will not return.
For local dinner or brunch, we love Curious Goods at Bake Oven Inn. Farm to table and chef owned. Excellent food. If you work nearby for a lunch break try Don Juans. For a pizza seriously consider Weis markets. Fogelsville, could use a local restaurant willing to realize and execute the standards of fresh tasting food we...
Read moreAesthetically this place is a 4 star, but the food and the customer services definitely lacks!!!!!. I came here on my lunch break and ordered me two things mind you I ordered calamari and a crabcake with sweet potato fries. Mind you the calamari order was so damn small. It was like for a child and it taste super gummy so I had two bites and sent it back; the waitress Jules act like she had a Damn problem. So then, my crab cake and a sweet potatoes came out that was really good. I told the waitress make sure she takes the calamari off because I didn’t like it. She comes back with the bill and it still had the calamari on it. Mind you had to tell her again to take it off. She came back and she split the cost of that in half. I said no take it off!! so she sent over the manager who act like she had A problem as well I feel I’m being the most professional one there. Mind you when she walked over and she said YEAH I said what do you mean Yeah??? she said you sent me over here. I was like no your waitress sent you over here. I’m telling you that I didn’t like the calamari. she said well you ate half of it. I said I didn’t eat half of it. The portion was so damn small. I took two bites of it and It. So we’re going back-and-forth I’m telling her to listen I have money that’s not a problem. Your food wasn’t just that good. It was gummy so she finally took off the order and then the waitress comes by and put the bills on the table and just walks away… I will never come here again, and I will never recommend anyone to come here. Like I said aesthetically this place that looks very nice, but the customer...
Read moreFacility and environment were super cool and my wife and I had our Hope's up for this new place. It's off the path, traffic is minimal and easy to get to. The outdoor seating is pretty sweet as well. Everybody was friendly and courteous, but man...the pleasantries stopped there. We had an 8pm reservation. Got there early and sat at the bar. 3 people behind the bar and 10 patrons sitting at the bar. 4 of which already had food in front of them and still took 10min to be acknowledged by 1 of 3 bartenders. Given drink menus and waited another 10 minutes. Never got a drink before we were sat for our reservation. Once we were sat it took another 10min to see our server and get menus and order drinks, another 20 before we saw her again to take our order. 40 minutes later we got our food without a check in from our server. Our server did not write down our order. We both got a steak (different cuts) and they were cooked backwards...my strip steak was medium well and her filet was medium rare....we asked for the opposite way around. We were not given steak knives and couldnt find our server anywhere, nor did she check in with us once we got our food. We get better service and food at hometown diner down the road for $15 per plate instead of $40 per plate. The Lehigh valley is overflowing with good restaurants and if want to run a high price point establishment you had better step your game up. The manager did credit my steak, but I doubt we will...
