Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Upper Macungie Township

Tonight I went to Rita’s. I got a chocolate concrete. My husband got strawberry shortcake. Both were outstanding. I was greeted by a smiley girl who took the order and a hard-working young man who made my concrete and when I said, I wanted hot fudge in the middle he added more with a smile on face. I didn’t have any cash to leave a tip so I went home didn’t have more than two bucks so I went to the ATM got a $20 bill got some stuff at Weis ended up with two5 dollar bills and change. Went back to Rita’s gave his blonde coworker a five dollar bill and she said that this young man’s name was Tristan and he was on break so I gave her the five dollars to give to him and hopefully he got it because he definitely deserved it because he did the work and he was Friendly. This Rita’s is hands-down the best in the area. Open year-round, it’s a go-to spot no matter the season. There’s indoor seating for chillier days and an awesome outdoor area with shaded tables—perfect for enjoying a treat in the sun.

The flavored custard options are fantastic (seriously, try them!), and there’s always plenty of parking—so convenient. I’ve never had to wait in a long line, which is a huge plus when you’ve got eager kids in tow. Worst experience ever. I ordered 4 of the chocoholic concretes, and i don't know what i got. They just gave us chocolate ice cream directly without blending. I always go to Rita's in different locations, but i never got like this. When i asked all 3 employees, they said this is the way to make it as per the recipe. I don't know what to say.
