I'm going to be real here. I've lived in oaks all of my life. Oaks is filled with wonderful people who are generally very respectful and outgoing. However, the night shift manager with the blonde pony tail is killing the wawa experience, not just for me, but for anyone and everyone residing/passing through Oaks. I have had multiple bad experiences (last 2 within same week) specifically with this lady and it has come a time to make this post. First occasion, despite the fact that my milkshake ticket was going for close to 10 minutes (RED AND BLINKING ON ORDER MONITOR WITH TIME FRAME TICKING), she made the newly submitted smoothie of 1 minute instead. Finally after 13 minutes I had gotten my milkshake, she placed on counter and said nothing whatsoever in regards to apologizing for the delay. Coming from someone who spent many early years working in the restaurant business, a simple apology goes a long way to show you may actually care about your customers. Now this was just the beginning. While making the drinks as expected, she was talking about an employee named Mark and how he cannot be trusted to get things done to another associate cooking food behind the counter. A manager should not be talking behind another associates back to another associate no matter what!! This kills work culture and causes associates to have zero respect for this lady creating such an awful atmosphere. To top it all off, a group of friends and I had just stopped in for some late night food (second occasion) and I once again ordered a specialty drink. After about 5 minutes of waiting, the same lady called out my number for my drink and instead of having it ready, she asked if the drink was made yet. This is 2:30 Am with hardly anyone else in the store. How my drink was delayed that long and the confusion arose on whether or not it was made is beyond me. I simply told her, "No I have not received my drink, thank you." She continued on to make the drink but when placing it on the counter, instead of saying the usual 154 your order is ready, she chose to YELL, "ORDER NUMBER 154 YOUR ORDER IS DONE NOW COME AND GET IT BEFORE I DRINK IT. " Yes this sounds like she may have been joking but her face was straight miserable and considering my earlier experience with this lady, it was down right disrespectful of her to say. I should NOT get the vibe that almost every other associate in the store is more professional than the manager leading them. I really hope this manager sees this post and evaluates her role as a manager of other associates. With her attitude, she should be the one getting bossed around and I can garuntee that with the culture she is creating, talking about other employees in front of customers behind their back, that those associates are doing the exact same thing. Wawa has been losing its reputation drastically with its food quality going downhill and when you throw awful, disrespectful managers in the bunch.. It turns into a complete failure. You can see in other posts, this night shift manager is more of a nightmare than anything. Please, get this straight or you will be losing some very, long...
Read moreThis is my first and probably only review i will ever do but this wawa is absolutely terrible. I come here multiple times a week because it is on the same exit as my work and I need the caffeine. I work shifts so I see how this wawa operates in both the morning and night. I have resorted to avoiding the deli section entirely because it is a guaranteed 15 minute wait for your order whether the store is packed or empty. I typically get the prepackaged "fresh" salads in the produce section but more often than not this section is bare because no one restocks the shelves. Today I actually was grabbing a salad while an employee was removing the expired salads from the section. When I asked if he could hand me a salad, because i didn't want to reach across him, he proceeded to hand me the salad he just told me was expired (I replaced it). After you get your food you'll usually find a very long line, about 10 people deep, at the register. For whatever reason they'll only have one register open when the store is really crowded which makes the lines move extremely slow. All that being said i keep going there because of the coffee, something that i thoroughly enjoy from wawa. I let the one time slide when they were out of coffee and i had to wait about 20 minutes for them to brew some more (and i dont mean they were out of french vanilla and i couldnt bare to have hazelnut, they were literally out of every single type of coffee they offer, how does that happen?). The straw that broke the camels back was tonight when i was drinking my coffee. I took a sip from my straw and got a few coffee grounds, which im ok with a few in there, im not picky. After several sip i was still getting coffee grounds, so i decided to open my cup up at work and pour it into another cup with a paper towel over it. After I was finished transferring my drink i found about a tablespoon of coffee grounds in my 24oz coffee. This place is awful and if there are any redeeming qualities to this store I...
Read morezero stars Just stopped in to grab some hot food on my way to work, deli closed. There's people behind the counter, but it's closed. This keeps happening. There were 3 people standing behind the deli counter last time it was closed, 2 of them were texting or whatever. They were laughing loudly and cursing and just doing nothing but hang out. Same thing multiple times recently.
Also grab and go cooler was basically empty except for a few sliced apple packs and hard boiled eggs. Trash all over the floor, employees standing around or doing busy work rather than selling food. Isn't selling food what you are know for or am I missing something? Really sucks when you work at night and rely on certain places and they fail. You never respond to any reviews, clearly you could care less about your customers. The fact you can't seem to keep employees on hand to keep the very thing that made you who you are, running, is also very telling.
I guess on the upside, Royal Farms has opened 2 stores within a very...
