Scornovacca's Urbandale (Restaurant & Bakery) — Restaurant in Urbandale

Friday evening I place a takeout order for a Big V Salad with creamy garlic Parm dressing and an order of Mozzarella cheese sticks. I am told that the order would be ready in 30 minutes. When I arrived at 6:20 P.M. had to wait 10 more minutes for the single person in front to ask me my name. I paid my $27.01 and she left while my receipt printed out under the counter. Seven more minutes go by when she came back she handed me a bag and a box. I asked for my receipt again but she ignored me and took money from the next person in line. When she handed that person their receipt, she tore off mine and threw it away. When she realized I was still there, I asked for the receipt which was now in the trash. Instead of just getting it out and handing it to me she had to ask my name so she could print out another. In disbelief, I left and took my order home, which is 3 minutes away. When I opened the salad bag, there was no dressing anywhere to be found. The salad was warm and the cheese sticks were cold. On the whole, it is an experience I will not repeat. Any of us who remember the original Scornovacca's on E.14th street will not recognize the product or service in today's store in Urbandale. The store was not very busy for a Friday night in my opinion and now, I understand why. The quality and service from the original store no longer exists in the world today. Pretty disappointed. Always enjoyed the southside location, so was looking forward to trying out the urbandale location. Sat down with 1 other table seated. Ordered cheese sticks, rings and a couple pizzas. Couple more tables were seated, we got our teasers. Rings were pretty good, sticks were warmish, def not hot. At this point, plenty of pick ups are happening. About 3-4 more tables get sat. Waitress picked up empty teaser baskets, told us our food is just about ready. Pizzas still leaving at a good pace. Other tables that got sat after us started receiving their full orders. At this point, it was almost an hour, and we told them We just want to pay for what they’ve already served us and we’re leaving. She told us only a couple more minutes on our pizza and I told her no, we’re done. She did tell us the cheese pizza was ready at this point, and we could have it to go for free and I told her keep it. As I pointed out, they were pretty busy and I acknowledge that, the fact that other tables were getting their food when they were sat and ordered after us, was the straw that broke the...

On Sunday afternoon I came to this location as a rideshare driver and I will never come back as a customer or rideshare driver again. I’ve never been treated so badly by a restaurant worker in my life. I came in for a customer I was driving for and the drinks I had on my side were different than the drinks on their side. I was very nice about it, just trying to make sure everything was correct. The lady working was incredibly rude to me for simply making sure I had the right drinks. After I explained to her that I get reviewed badly if I give the wrong drinks, she said “you decided to take the order so it’s not my problem.” I end up calling the customer and she ended up being right. Before I even get the chance to apologize and go about my day, she proceeds to rub it in my face that she was right and I was wrong. I was in complete disbelief at the way I was being talked to by simply just making sure an order was right. I will never eat here and I will never show up as a ride share driver ever again. What a...
