Maybe resting on laurels here.
I ordered more pants for my Canali. After texting John Reeve for updates, he told me they would reach out when it arrived. They forgot about my order, I was never notified, and when I followed up with John Reeve a month later, he said the pants had just been delivered that very day. This upset me, because I knew it was too much of a coincidence to be true. After communicating this, he admitted they had the pants for over a week and blamed their texting system for the error. This second excuse made me more upset, and I told them I no longer wanted the pants.
I did feel bad and had my assistant call the store later to arrange pick up of the pants. She said staff was passive aggressive over the phone about the situation. I don’t know exactly what was said, but the fact she felt anything other than the store being accommodating is wild.
Why be like this? If you are the best, be the best. If you make a mistake, that’s fine, own it. Making excuses and shifting blame isn’t accountability. The store took no effort to make it right. Frankly, it seems like they wrote me off as a customer.
Two stars because my first few experiences a couple years ago were great. Not sure what...
Read moreI am a taking my first steps into having an understanding and wearing quality men’s clothing. I came in and asked an attendant after about a minute in the store about “casual professional” clothes for my new job. I was introduced to the simple and yet subtle nuances of what is possible.
With frank and honest communication, I gained the beginnings of a wardrobe and business relationship that I have no doubt will be a very long one. Yes, it is an investment, but one that comes with quality of clothing, and professionalism that makes you feel right at home when you put on those new threads. When I purchased just a few items not only did I feel great and look great for my new job, but Tim the owner even came over and shook my hand.
My advice, ignore the chains and buy local starting at Mr. B’s. All these guys are great, but if you’re ever looking for a new start; ask for Darin. No matter who you get, you’re...
Read moreHigh end men’s clothiers are hard to find in the first place but pairing that with a staff and ownership that cares this much about their customers and community is truly one-of-a-kind! The product lines have amazing quality and the staff is super knowledgeable. They take care of all the tailoring unlike other stores that nickel and dime you for it. The dress shoes I used to buy were around the $150-200 mark and would last a year if I was lucky. The Magnanni shoes Tim helped me with were around $300 but, are almost two years old now and still look as great as the day I bought them. This applies to everything I have bought here including the suit Tim donated to a charity event I held last year to help burn victim children. Buy local folks and help support...
