Mochi by Okashi Fusion — Restaurant in Vacaville

I was so excited to go to this place and I’m really glad I did! The food was really good. The staff was REALLY nice! I was very skeptical about the mochi donut as the texture of mochi isn’t something I really care for. After asking a few questions the person working there asked me if I wanted to try some which was really kind! I’m glad they did because it sold me 100% The texture of the donut is a bit chewier and thicker than regular donuts. I had the Ube flavor and I would highly recommend! (It’s mostly just sweet with not too strong of a particular flavor in my opinion.) Now the corn dog was interesting! It was what I had came in there for honestly. It definitely was really tasty but not quite what I expected. I got the combination dog which is beef and cheese mixed together, as well as a plain crust with sugar and ketchup on the side. I think what I was expecting was more of an alternation between meet and cheese. To where you’d be able to get a bite of meat and cheese in one go. It definitely was mostly cheese (or 2-3 bites of cheese, then 2 bites of meat, etc.) which wasn’t bad just not what I was expecting! I coated the outside with a light amount of sugar, and then some ketchup and somehow everything paired so well together! If you thought sugar wouldn’t be good with this combo. You’d be wrong! (Plus that’s the traditional way, and if you’re wondering, the sugar makes the crust kinda taste like a sugar donut or a funnel cake or something like that!) Overall this place is really good! I was visiting the area and my daughter's asked to make a special trip over to try Mochi. We were super excited to try it! We ordered a hot cheeto corn dog with no cheese and when we got it, it had cheese. We didn't complain and decided to just eat it with the cheese. However we realized it was ONLY cheese, there was no hot dog inside. So my daughter went back in and told them and the girl working said that the hot dog was in there and she needed to just keep eating. She took another 2 bites and there was no hot dog. We asked for a refund and the girl refused. She only offered to remake it but at that point my daughter was getting full so we declined. The woman in front of us was also complaining about them making a mistake and they refunded her. Obviously they could've done the same for us but their customer service there is horrible. Didn't get to try, sat her waiting with the kids from 945 because it said they opened at 10am. 10 rolls around and 2 people show up to open, but keep it closed. It's now 10:13 as I'm writing and still closed. A customer came in and was told they're not open or ready. 2 more walked up and turned away. We were going to be patient but man this is kind of unprofessional IMO. If you open at 10 am you'd think they'd get in there at least am hour to prep and be ready to open at 10? Idk.
