Fri., Jan 8, 2022: Improved menu in that they brought back many items such as Y2K rolls. Still no fresh oysters. The miso still taste different and strangely not as it should normally taste.
They still offer limited in-house dining, which is good in my opinion.
*Update 5p, April 10, 2021: I am not sure what is going on with this restaurant. During COVID their menu slimmed down quite a bit. No Miso, no vegetable tempura, no Davis Roll, no rice...
My wife wanted to order take out again. Along with what they limit, they limited even more. No tempura at all. They only offer Sashimi and Rolls on their combo menu.
When I went to pick-up my order, I notice they were open to limited seating. Their sushi bar was open and running, so that means they must be offering something there.
The was no organization at the front of the order pickup door. One patron was standing within 2' of me, then she up in front of 3 patrons to check her order, once they told her it was not ready, she stood closely to me again.
When I was the next in line to pay and order pickup, another patron just cut in front of the line to pickup.
After paying, I sat down as the order was not ready yet. The lady that cut the line early, then sat next to me within 2' of me again.
When we got home, the wasabi was not fresh, going from green to brown green. Something was off on the rolls, we believe it was the seaweed, and I found a small hair on my Y2K roll.
7 p.m., Sat., Nov 2:
Wait Time: awful even for a Saturday night, 20th in line, almost 1-hour wait time
Sushi Bar: long wait, forgotten requested items, sushi belt thin of items, majority of support staff talking too much and standing around
Servers: slow, items were segmented (first tempura, then drinks minutes later), had to request to remove plates, not friendly mannerism
Food: this is the only category that met my expectations, not one complaint
Final Thought: my family and I been loyal customers of Fuji's for many years, this visit was the most disappointing, while this will not stop our patronage, we are left to wonder what happened tonight, there were many new staff members that I had not seen, but the place appeared fully staffed for a Saturday night, unfortunately my observations were disappointing as a majority of the staff were slow and had no sense of urgency as they were standing around and talking...
Read moreIf you like food with flavor and good service, please, stay away! Over priced and underwhelmed. Please read on if you want the dirty details... Went for a Friday night date night with hubby. The reviews were wonderful and we were excited to try a new place. Arrived early as the reviews mentioned lines. The restaurant opened promptly at 5pm and there was already a crowd. I thought this was a good sign (I was wrong). We chose to sit at a table and a server took our drink order and I asked about the menu as it was our first time there and wasn't sure what was on the rotating buffet and what needed to be ordered via server. She was abrupt and unkind in her answer. Some rolls need to be ordered and some are on shelves above the rotating buffet. You order the appetizers from the many servers meandering throughout the restaurant and some have tablets, some don't. We ordered appetizers and went to the rotating buffet. Found some items and sat down. My husband's appetizers showed up. Mine did not. When we inquired again and I finally received my seaweed salad it was as though chewing petrified hay that had mated with Easter egg basket grass and left out to pertrify in Death Valley for good measure. Then still had to ask them again and again for everything else we ordered from the shrimp and veggie tempura to the soft shelled crab, fried oysters, salmon, was bland and oily. The only taste was oil and batter. The sushi rolls were on par with Walmart. Although with Walmart at least you know you're choosing trash. The restaurant seems to not have any salt on hand as even the edamame (which on the menu says "lightly salted") had NO salt at all. Orders from the servers repeatedly did not arrive and the air was not on. It was extremely warm and it was already a late, hot, summer day. The oysters, which I was truly looking forward to were sticky, slimy and uneddible. For $56 I could have made dinner at home myself and saved me from (embarrassingly) vomiting in the parking lot while onlookers cringed. And yes, it tasted just as bad if not worse coming up. Dine at...
Read moreFriends told me about the place and I decided to check them out, here's my opinion : Ambient / Decor: Could not be more casual and customers appear not to care about it. Big room with table toward to the walls and a food counter in the center! That is it! No Frills! It is a ALL YOU CAN EAT buffet restaurant so customers come for the food. Service: Basic! They get your name, seat you, explain the menu (more on food) and that is it. The rest of the interaction resumes to order items not available on the food counter, taking dirty dishes away and paying your bills. I MUST say that whenever I interacted with my server he was very polite and pleased to help. Food: Good and abundant! They are done to satisfy a large crowd and for that they do it good. It's FRESH and made right in front of you. The menu has items that you pick up yourself at the counter and others that you have to order with the server. Either way they are the core of any Sushi restaurant. Soft drinks are available and they also offer couple beers and wine. I must say that the fine delicacy and the exquisite attention to small flavor's detail and appearance of the Japanese cuisine are not to be found. Price: It is a BARGAIN! Simple as that! Conclusion: Looking for a place to eat sushi not spending much and not having higher expectations that is the place. It's a place to have fun and share good times with family...
