Cracker Barrel Old Country Store — Restaurant in Valdosta

Ordered takeout last night. Two roast beef dinners with mashed potatoes and pinto beans. We eat here quite a bit and EVERYTHING in both of our meals was the blandest most disgusting food we had ever gotten from there. I assumed someone completely forgot to put any spices of any kind because it was disgustingly bland. No big deal. I know the food is normally good and absolutely nothing like every single item on both our meals. I called and was very cool about it because we do go there a lot and just informed the manager that apparently someone forgot to put any spice of any kind on both our meals. Didn’t even accept anything in compensation when the manager offered. Just told him not to worry about it but that he might want to mention it because the food has never been of this poor quality from this location.

It’s now 4:00 am and woke up feeling sick to my stomach and threw up the thankfully little I had eaten. Fortunately the food was so disgusting I only had a few bites of mashed potatoes, a couple bites of pinto beans, and two or three small bites of the roast beef. My wife however had eaten her beans and a couple bites of potatoes and roast beef. This poor woman is now deathly sick and vomiting and in a lot of pain because it triggered a bad ulcer to flare up.

Currently waiting for them to open so I can take what’s left of this nasty food poison ridden garbage back to them and raise absolute hell because not only did I pay $35 for two of the worst meals I’ve ever had I am now taking care of my wife because she’s so sick and in a lot of pain. This is not mild food poisoning it’s very nasty food poisoning. Even after all the times we have eaten at this location neither one of us is EVER eating here again. I’ll be bringing the majority of both meals back up there when they open and I really hope they aren’t dumb enough to offer us more food because after getting this sick from a few bites I wouldn’t feed it to anyone much less eat it myself.

Just a warning that the chance of buying food that is not only disgusting but also caused us both to be sick after a few bites is not worth it one bit. Both of us sick from only a few bites is unacceptable. We will NEVER eat ANYTHING from this location again and I will be sending the health department to check them out. EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK only if you are willing to take a chance on severe food poisoning. Used to be a decent place to eat but after this not even dreaming of taking a chance there again. Just a heads up. The food ranges from good to severe food poisoning so if you want to live dangerously this is the place to be. Absolutely no excuse for everything on both meals to be horrible and make everyone sick. Will update after I go up there when they open but no matter what we both agreed to not eat there again.

UPDATE: Just left the store. I explained to the manager what happened and brought the food back. She told me if I wanted my money back to call Corporate because she wasn’t giving it back. Of course the corporate office is closed today. WORST FOOD, JOKE OF A “MANAGER”, AND IF AND WHEN YOU GET FOOD POISONING THEY WILL REFUSE TO REFUND...

Food was gross, cold, and gritty. Ordered a grandma's sampler the following was wrong: 1) When I ordered I asked for over medium eggs, extra crispy has browns and bacon. Note: it also comes with pancakes. When the waitress brought the food there was one piece of bacon, a small pale in color piece of ham, and a circular over cooked sausage. When I said could not eat those she said the order comes with those. Granted we all make mistakes maybe I misread. However, she said if I wanted all bacon I had to ask. Now I can handle if I made the mistake but when she said that I returned with the comment, I asked for extra crispy bacon. She stayed quiet. I kept the food and put the meat I was not eating aside. 2) The food on all of our plates were cold or room temp. 3) Hash browns were mush in the middle and cooked like a smushed patty. Mixed them with the eggs to see if it at least tasted okay could not eat them. 4) Pancakes were cold and gritty. Tried to eat them and during my daughter eating she says eww there is a blonde hair in my food. Mind you 2 of us have brown hair and she has black hair and my husband is pretty much shaved. Could not finish eating. The other two at our table, daughter and husband were able to eat their food though it was all cold. We were up charged for the hash browns did not know they were an upgrade from the hash brown casserole, this could be our fault but we do not remember seeing that note. And could not eat mine. The waitress did try to make it right and bring my bacon and she is not the cook so it being cold is not her fault. Then we went to the little store and picked a candy bar. Paid for it and walked to the car as I am about to open it the expiration date is a month old. Floors were sticky and table.

Service is between 1-3 point wise. Food zero And atmosphere...

I've been a loyal customer for many years. This location has to be the worst service I've ever experienced. My wife and I had lunch here on June 1st on the way to Tampa from our home in Knoxville. I had ordered the trout and asked for a side of tarter sauce. When our server (Orean Dorminey) brought out our food, she forgot to bring my sauce, she said she would go and get it and didn't even apologize about it. Almost 5 minutes later, she came out of the kitchen and started taking another tables order. I couldn't get her attention so my wife walked up to the table to ask her for my sauce that she forgot for the second time. By the time she finally brought it to me with a terrible attitude, I told her that if my fish was cold that I would probably need to re order another. She abruptly turned around and walked away, we couldn't believe what had just happened with her rude and unprofessional way she had handled this. I immediately asked the host for a manager that did come out to our table. After explaining to her what happened, I did have them bring me another trout dinner that included the tarter sauce after she offered to do so. I asked for a different server as well that was so nice and apologized for what had happened. My meal should of been comped after experiencing this terrible and unprofessional type of service that isn't a standard for Cracker Barrel. I had sent an email and complained on there website contact us section the next day, I never heard back from anyone who and its been over week now.

I can assure you that we won't evet be back to this or any other Cracker Barrel locations...
