First let me just say the people are very nice and the gentlemen that runs the register is super friendly and funny as well. I came in for some lunch for my third time going there in the past two months and he recognized me and shook my hand. What place has people like that??
The food is very inexpensive, simple and very delicious! I’m never unhappy when I eat here and best of all, the menu changes daily while the regular items are always available. It’s so nice to have a place in Valdosta that serves food that isn’t chain restaurant food. Every time I come here I make sure to try something different and as I said before, never disappointed.
The restaurant itself is small but clean and well maintained. Due to the small size of the restaurant there are limited tables available. So if you show up and it’s packed full, don’t be discouraged. Get your food to go and sit in your car and eat or take it home with you, it’s worth it.
Again the food is simple, small and relatively basic but still very delicious and cheap. And because it’s cheap it allows you to buy multiple items and try different thing while being able to leave feeling full and satisfied. If you want something that’s not chicken joint after chicken joint and mediocre BBQ this is the...
Read moreI cannot believe I did not know about this place!! It is super low key in a fairly unattractive plaza on Northside drive. Would not quite describe it as a hole in the wall but it also is nowhere near as nice as the new plazas popping up in town. But it does not disappoint. I can only get food like this when I am in Florida or up in Atlanta. Here, our Latin cuisine consists of an over-saturated market of mediocre Mexican restaurants.
When I walked in, I was greeted by a very nice man. When I mentioned it was my first time he explained the menu with great detail, along with their different daily specials and even ingredients. I went with the chicken platter and a beef empanada.
The chicken is the very thin chicken breasts you typically see in Latin cuisine. It was tender and flavorful and was a decent size. It was served alongside some white rice, kidney beans, salad and your choice of plantains. Definitely more than enough food and very affordable. Definitely getting some bang for your buck!
I will definitely return and hopefully one day they can do some sweet empanadas like pastelito de guayaba! It is similar to our apple turnover or whatever, but better. With guava and cream cheese that...
Read moreMy friend chose this place as a meeting point, as we were both traveling from hours away, and needed a place to stop and grab a bite. I am very glad he did. I love empanadas and this place did not disappoint. I had the Colombian empanada, which was a new experience for me, and very tasty. I also got the beef and cheese at the recommendation of the person who took our order, and it was also very good. My friend got a chicken, and he and his girlfriend enjoyed the plantains as well. They had a great selection of beverages, you can’t go wrong with a Mexican Coca-Cola. As important as the good quality and tasty food was the fact that the people there were very hospitable. We arrived just a half hour before closing, and we had not seen each other for about 15 years. They let us stay and talk while they Closed up, and never were impatient. They even let us put in another order after hours. I would definitely come back to this place, great people, great food, and...
