I have shopped here many, many times since it is close by, and I have tried to like the store. My issues have been with the frozen and refrigerated foods, and meat department. I always purchase multiple frozen large Family meals like Grandma's Chicken and Rice Bake, Meatloaf, Salisbury Steak etc, etc. They are always, (every time) frozen hard but contents shifted and bulging to one side, or compressed and sides bulged from stacking; and a few meals that the clear plastic was separated from the bulging issue. Can't help but believe it thawed out at some point. The same meals are not that way at Publix. It's only been a couple times that we have felt a little uneasy in the stomach after eating, but it surely makes me think it was from the thaw/refreeze. Multiple times I have opened egg cartons to find broken and Missing eggs. I've had many steaks and pork chops smell rancid after opening while refrigerated, prior to sell by date. I have called at least twice, displeased with responses. Was told to buy the more expensive Angus brand, and that sometimes the cheap brand just does that. I did speak to someone on next visit, was told the cheaper non Angus brand was from another country!
The Pharmacy has also been a fiasco. They had to special order a med, we agreed on the price quote prior to order. A week later med arrived, but was over $500 beyond quote. After lengthy discussion that wasn't fortuitous, I asked to hold it until tomorrow so I could rearrange some funds. The next morning the special order med had been sold to someone else! I was told they could reorder but it would be another week. I am still quite heated, only now even able to talk about it! I went to a competitor and received med for near the original quote.(I still had to wait additional 5 days for order, All due to Winn Dixie reneging on quote) I am finished...
Read moreI definitely prefer our lakes Blvd, Lake park,Ga store,. only had a few last min things to pick up for Thanksgiving dinner and the customer were as rude as the employees and I understand it was 1 day before Thanksgiving, but their was no reason especially for the employees to be rude, from the stock crew to the cashier and customers are just as rude in the 5 points store in Valdosta, Ga and now I remember why I dislike that particular store and I will definitely be sticking to our lakes Blvd, Lake Park,Ga store where all the employees are very nice and get to know your name and treat you decently and most shoppers have manners as well and treat you with respect, you're always going to have 1 or 2 customer's that's rude and maybe catch a cashier on a bad day but rarely does this happen@ our home store and next time I'll go out of our way to use our home store, just to avoid this self centered store whom seems to act like you're not worthy of being a customer there, I even almost got ran over twice yesterday while stock crew was in such a rush to get item's to an area & not 1 excuse me or I'm sorry and the same for the customer's yesterday, I've got aniexty & have panic attacks and had a really bad one while in the 5 points store, thank goodness I happened to have my anxiety Meds with me and stopped in the middle of the store just to take one and Yes it definitely was that bad and like I said we will stick with our Lake park Ga store where they make you feel welcome and like family. Happy...
Read moreI am writing to thank you for convincing me that I am FAR HAPPIER when I choose to shop at Publix than your company. I made the mistake of stopping at your store in Valdosta on N Ashley Street this morning. The Publix where I usually shop was out of a particular item and I stopped at your location to see if you had it in stock, which I was pleased to find you did. That ended the pleasant portion of my visit. I looked and was displeased to find that the only check out option was your "self- serve" system. As I attempted to utilize this miserable system I encountered problem after problem. As I was about to leave the item I had desired a very nice young man canme over to assist me. He was obviously very knowledgeable and an asset of which you should be proud. regardless it took him considerable time to get your "most user unfriendly" system to function, and he had to return again as I attempted to purchase and pay for the one item I have selected. Needless to say I will drive to any other store to avoid having to deal with your REQUIRED use of the self-service or more properly self-NOSERVICE system. I am sure your competitors appreciate the steps you have taken to insure I do not ever return to your chain. I do suggest that you at least notify customers as they enter that the ONLY checkout option will be the Self-NOSERVICE system. I hope that you can appreciate that I have taken my time to let you know of my displeasure...
