OSAKA hibachi & sushi — Restaurant in Valdosta

This is usually one of my favorite restaurants in Valdosta! Delicious, timely, and a fair price for what you pay for. However, my latest experience has stained my overview of this establishment. I ordered the steak hibachi with noodles. I could have gotten over the fact that my food was disappointingly lackluster, with steak that hadn't been seasoned at all and noodles that were almost completely flavorless. (It's normally a delicious dish with many different types of flavor!) I whipped up a quick sauce, threw some seasonings over the top, and then the food tasted fine. Easy fix. But then I discovered a decent sized sharp piece of black plastic in the food when I took a bite. That's totally unacceptable and it could have been dangerous. I know it didn't come from my kitchen when I added the sauce, I made it myself and know everything that went into it. It was a type of plastic one finds in a restaurant, like from a plastic utensil or food storage box. Brittle and a little thick. I don't have anything like that in my home, so I know it came from Osaka's prep space. I used to recommend Osaka to everyone but I can't continue to endorse this restaurant until they bump the quality back up to delicious meals that contain only edible elements, not the bland...

We’ve been in here several times before this visit and every other visit has been great. I don’t know what happened this time. I walked in front and asked the woman behind the counter what a crab puff is, to which she replied with “deep fried crab and cream cheese”. I asked, “so like a crab rangoon?” She said “no, it’s a sushi roll”. I asked again, “but like crab rangoon?” She said, “no, I said it was sushi”. After that I didn’t ask anymore questions. I placed my order - which was chicken teriyaki, white rice, no vegetables, extra sauce. I double checked with her that it was indeed teriyaki, she confirmed. After the order was completed, as paying, she informed us that the “top” doesn’t work. Pushed some buttons on the register and looked over. Asked if we had inserted the card because she “already told us once that the top doesn’t work”. Upon getting the order I looked in the bag and noticed there wasn’t any teriyaki sauce. I asked for it again, she replied with “that’ll be .65”. She wanted to charge us for something that was ordered, double checked and asked for again…. Because she couldn’t hear it? I’m not upset about having to pay for the sauce, I’m upset because if you can’t hear everything yourself maybe don’t be so rude to people who...

I was so disappointed. The reviews for this place is so misleading. Maybe they had a recent dive in management.

This is really a self service don't ask us for anything type fast food sushi restaurant which really doesn't go together at all. The service and food so doesn't match the price. They had piles of foam plates and cups in the corner. I got our food in to go containers although we were dinning in and asked for an extra container to split a meal and was rudely told "get it yourself" and as she pointed to the corner of containers. It was all thrown everywhere messy and disorganized.

There is no changing table in the bathrooms either, just makes being a parent in public so much harder.

The food was not terrible but not good. There was very minimal flavor in the dishes and absurd amounts of cream cheese in the rolls and rangoons. Not the good kind, the wet soupy kind of cream cheese. Our whole family was sick to our stomaches for the rest of the day. So throw in a good dash of questionable sanitary...
