Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Valdosta

My family and I went to Dairy Queen this past Sunday night (3/27/22). When we got there it was 8:30pm and the drive thru line was wrapped around the building (since the dining room now closes at 8pm). I was really wanting their Royal Ultimate Choco Brownie Blizzard, so we decided to wait. After 40 minutes of waiting in line, it was finally our turn to order… just to find out they only had 5 options of ice cream to choose from! First we tried to order the Royal Ultimate Choco Brownie and they claimed they were out of that. We then tried to order a Strawberry icecream and they proceeded to tell us they were out of that, too. We ordered a Hot Fudge Sundae and they did happen to have that, but then told us our only other options to choose from would be a Butterfinger, Heath, Cookie Dough, or an M & M blizzard. That’s a shame to have a line wrapped around the building an hour and a half before closing time just to realize when you finally get to order, they barely have any of their ice cream choices available. I mean DQ is an ice cream place, so to be out of the majority of your ice cream options is just ridiculous. Even more ridiculous that an employee or two couldn’t take the time to let the 20+ cars waiting in line know ahead of time that they were out of pretty much everything before we all sat there for 40+ minutes just to find out they didn’t have what we came to order off their menu. Not to mention, the amount of Hot Fudge that came in my Hot Fudge Sundae was MINIMAL which made my trip that much more disappointing considering I could have saved all that time and just had vanilla ice cream at home had that been...

I visit this particular DQ quite a bit since it’s close to my house and my kids love it. I don’t think I’ve ever had a GOOD experience (orders are wrong often, food is never fresh and the kids that work here barely have any customer service skills), but again… my kids love the place so 🤷🏾‍♀️ We’ve visited twice this week already and it only Tuesday! Now there are 2 young black men who are usually on the register when I go that make the experiences OKAY. One speaks like Ben Stein from the old “Clear Eyes” commercials… He’s very nice, he just never smiles.. like EVER. The other one has a pleasant attitude, he just never knows anything when you ask 🤦🏾‍♀️ But today what probably did it for me and this location is the young lady who brought out my son’s Cupfection. She had THEEEEE WORST attitude ever. On top of her attitude, she didn’t even close the cup completely and casually walked off when I asked for napkins to wipe the outside of the cup off..which had more of the dessert than the inside. Not sure why she even served it to me like that🙄 The young man from the register came over and tightened the lid and wiped it clean for me… so kudos to him! But yeah… I think I’ll be visiting the one on Ashley from now on. Oh and btw.. onion rings should COME WITH dipping sauce and not be an extra cost 😒...

If you are looking for a job I suggest you look elsewhere they don’t give you any type of breaks the managers are the only ones who get free food The manager Alex don’t train the new employees or make time to so he have his underlings train the new hires while also watching them struggle to do all the tasks required for the station as well as shouting at them from a far for them to hurry up with the order and please don’t ask him a question when he is busy ;he talks to you crazy then try to act nice afterwards there is no manager tending to the lobby when clearly it’s needs it ,it’s very chaotic and its not even that busy Yesterday I had to sit and watch somebody do the same thing I was doing just faster then the manager said that’s how fast I need to go and one thing I’m not about to do is rush around for 8 hours straight with no break , and no food for 10 bucks an hour , and the managers instead of helping out when there is a little rush they just watch you run all over the place while standing around talking ;overall worst job experience ever!!, never have I ever quit a job within the first week The energy there is terrible p.s They have minors working in this store specifically for 8 hours straight No break ! ...
