What can I even say! WOW! Hands down the greatest "Tex-Mex" I've ever had! Not only was the food wonderful, the service was absolutely beyond anything I've experienced at a 5 star restaurant. Kent went ABOVE and beyond to make my experience, and others, feel like a VIP experience. It started before I even touched the door. As I was walking in, there was a couple leaving and I heard a friendly "Have a great night, come back and see us", from inside. When I get to the line, Kent greeted me with a smile and I let him know my friend and I had just moved from NC to Valdosta and had never visited a Surcheros. He asked about what kinds of foods we enjoyed and offered up a variety of recommendations. Kent also shared some history on the restaurant, let us know about the "Surcheros" way and mentioned the fresh ingredients. He offered us a sample of things we wanted to try! Another plus was the free guac and the chips and salsa! WOW! The value is INCREDIBLE for the amount of food we received. The food was delicious!!!! I can't say it enough! Kent offered us a to-go menu and let us know about the upcoming mobile up and other locations. I was so impressed and the tip I left, and this review, do Surcheros and Kent no justice. He was funny, polite, informative, and EVERYTHING exceptional customer service should entail. As we were paying, he personally walked us to the salsa bar and again, made recommendations. What a great experience! I will now be a regular of Surcheros. Even if the food would've been "okay", Kents service would have still gotten me. However, that wasn't even the case here. 10/10 food...
Read moreParty of 5 for lunch. This was my first time in Surcheros. Walking in the door the line formed facing the menu on the wall describing the process and procedure for ordering. Once at the counter you are greeted and your selection process begins. You can see through the glass as your order is being put together. This allows you to see all of the fresh ingredients available. After all of your selections are made you move onto the register to order queso for your chips and a drink. Different seating arrangements are available with regular tables and high tops. Tables are easily re-arranged to accommodate larger groups. There is a bar with a variety of salsas and hot sauces in order to spice up your meal. The drinks are a selection of coke products from a fountain dispenser that has fruit punch and a water option. Two urns of sweet tea and one of unsweetened tea finish out the counter. We had a good lunch and experience. We...
Read moreWish I had photos of this place, because it was filthy. I can't believe we ate here, but we stayed becuase we were on a long journey and it took a stupid amount of time to get there off of I-75.
If you are traveling on I-75 DON'T go in search of this place. There is a newer one fairly close within 20/30 miles (can't remember the exit) that is VERY convinient and clean.
I honestly kept thinking about Chipotle's food poisoning issues and could not enjoy my meal because of this. There was food all over the service floor, the stock bins were filthy, the employees were careless, everything was just unkept and dirty.
I kept waiting to be sick, but thankfully that didn't happen nor did anyone in our group get sick. I would never go there again though.
The food is ok, but Moe's is better. I don't see how this is competing honestly - not that Moe's isn't any cleaner most of the time, but the food is...
