Royal Buffet — Restaurant in Valdosta

Went here today with a friend and had a good lunch, was it $10.05 good, probably not but still good. Well we were taking some lunch to a co-worker and my friend fixed the plate and put some sauce in it. Well any other day we go there a lady, who is the most friendly and always smiling, helps us. Well today there was a skinny man, not the lady. After he weighed the plate he flipped it on its side and dumps the sauce all over the food inside. When my friend noticed she said "I'm going to make another plate because of this sauce all over." No problem right. NOPE! After she made the plate the guy became angry and was yelling at her that she was going to pay for this plate, and said nothing about a refund for the other. He also said that if she didn't want the sauce on everything she shouldn't have put it in the plate. Then he comes from behind the counter and is trying to get into her face yelling still that she was going to pay for the plate. We then leave and I tell him this is not how to run a business and to have a good day. We WILL NOT be returning. That is not how you run a business. At no time were my friend or myself ugly to this stranger but he was beyond ugly to us. Instead of saying I can refund the plate and charge you for the new one and showing us where the little cups were he instead chose to yell and scream. Heed this warning. Who doesn't love a good buffet (the answer is me because I overstuff myself lol, but the food is great). The staff is cool. One of the few sit down places left. Just be mindful that dinner starts at 3 pm and they start putting it out at 2:30 pm and sometimes they do not label the items, so if you are a newby you don't know. I went for lunch. I was excited because I saw crab. The waitress took my check and added an additional $4. I paid it without question because you know embarassment, I left a nice tip but after I paid I did ask the manager what happened and he said he wasn't sure. It was 2:30 when I left and I later found out that dinner starts at 3pm...if you are not aware..this could happen to you. I would recommend just going to dinner after 3 pm that way you may gorge yourself on all the seafood you want. I ended up paying for dinner but was stuffed after I munched on one crab. Still a cool place and in my opinion decent staff. I would definitely recommend if you just need a break from cooking and to get out...

Great variety of food! One thing I could point out that highlights this place is that you can order up sushi rolls and sashimi that are ready in roughly 5 mins. My wife is very fond of their fried and baked fish, and very often will enjoy the crawfish. I stay with mostly chicken and beef entree’s, and maybe some fried frogs legs, or snow crab. Even if there is something you don’t normally try I would give this place the benefit of the doubt on being reliably tasty.

The wait staff are very nice and go out of their way to make you comfortable. I’ve never noticed any cleanliness issues, and the tables we’ve been seated at are very tidy.

We don’t eat buffet everyday, but when we do we look forward to coming here.
