Red Owl Coffee Company — Restaurant in Valdosta

Updated: Unfortunately, I'm removing this coffee shop from my trip to Florida stop. It used to be a reliable and enjoyable stop, but this recent visit was disappointing. What should have been a simple request for a hot decaf coffee turned into an unnecessarily long and confusing conversation. I was eventually told they only had decaf espresso, so I asked if an Americano could be made— I don't remember how the conversation went in the past but I know it was always a good spot to grab a decaf coffee and wasn't complicated.

What really sealed my decision, though, was the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. It was incredibly skimpy—barely any bacon and just a thin layer of egg. For a $12 order, I expected something far more substantial. Sadly, this visit didn’t live up to the quality or ease I had remembered.

I used to love this Red Owl and come all the time, but these past few months of going have not impressed me. I love their coffee and I prefer it over Starbucks. I usually get the Iced Caramel Macchiato, but recently they have been filling it up way too much and it leaks out everywhere. It has become more of a hassle to get it and I would rather not get it. When I ask for napkins, some of the workers will make me feel like I am being a inconvenience. I go for the Sugar Free and Guilt Free options, and a lot of the times they only have a select few flavors in the store and they will be out for a few weeks at a time. That is not a problem, as I understand they get a lot of business and there are supply chain shortages. I will still come here because I love the coffee and they still have some good workers there. I do not drink coffee often, stopped in at RO on my morning bicycle ride before church and ordered a coffee, I was asked if I wanted any creamer, I said yes, and stumbled between almond milk and milk, decided on milk. After a few minutes of letting it cool I continued to drink it. I thought it was horrible so I asked for more milk and they asked if I asked for milk, I said yes, I was told that I did not ask for milk or creamer I did not disagree, I just wanted some added. They could see there was none, I could not tell LOL, so I asked for some and they said they would need to charge me.
