Chunky's Tacos — Restaurant in Valparaiso

As a former employee, I got to see first-hand how the truck operates. Everything is prepared freshly, from the steak and chicken to the onion and cilantro to the pico and guac. We chopped veggies throughout the shift to make sure it's all fresh. Meat is grilled-to-order. Tortillas are hot and fresh. Anybody (for the most part) can cut their own veggies and grill meat, but what sets Chunky's apart is the flavor. Between the winter season and moving, it's been many moons since I've had Chunky's. But I can still taste Eric's family-influenced recipes. I had to take a break from this review just to sit back and relish the memory. I was a picky eater before I tried Chunky's food. Didn't eat steak, onion, or cilantro. When Eric handed me that first traditional steak taco, I realized I'd never even had a taco before. My palate was opened to a world of flavors, and quite honestly, I judge new tacos I try based on Chunky's. I'm a taco fanatic, a self-proclaimed food critic, and a friend of Eric's. My review isn't biased. If the food sucked, I'd tell him and I wouldn't dare let my grandma try it. Best chicken taco I have ever had. Not soggy and bland, absolutely packed with flavor and tender. Their avocado Verde salsa was the perfect condiment for it.

UPDATE: We have been longtime fans of Chunky’s Tacos and have eaten there many times. We liked what we had had in the past so much that we approached Chunky’s to cater our small wedding. They were easy to schedule, kept in touch and were willing to work with us on everything. Day of they were wonderful and we got endless compliments from our guests on how much they enjoyed their food from their full menu. Chunky’s even went above and beyond and made sure everyone involved, including our bartender, were fed and taken care of. Chunky's Tacos is one of the most genuine experiences you can ask for. We had the steak tacos, chicken tacos, and also a steak bowl. The steak bowl was one of the most flavorful and delicious bowls I have had in a long time. The meat was seasoned perfect and the combination of ingredients is will leave your taste buds BUZZIN.
