2 main points to why I only have this 2 stars. This sucks cause this was one of the best The price for the food quality and the aroma/atomsphere.

While there recently my husband and I were kind of shocked at the prices for what you get. The fact you have to pay for fries/side with your burger/entree is very odd. So we did a little research. By comparison, Big Time Burger and Brew in Portage, you can get a triple cheeseburger with an excellent portion of fries/side included with the meal for $17 before tax. At Schoops, for a triple cheeseburger it’s $19 plus the added fries small $3 medium $4, it’s way over $22. And the quality you get, is not worth it anymore. The last time we were there, the food came out cold, and didn’t taste fresh at all. Secondly, the atmosphere. When I tell you, the smell in the place is gross and the quality on the tables and seats is appalling. I truly wish I was joking. The smell is like cigarettes and urine mixed. The seats are mostly duct tape and crumbs everywhere. We used to come here ALL the time. One of our favorite burger joints. The service is still good , the servers are very nice, friendly, and always checking in. But within the past 5 years it has gone to absolute crap. Will not be back to this location. I love to travel and try new places. I heard this place was one to try. So, I took my two girls and myself spent $75.00 with tip!!! That was crazy to me especially since the burgers DO NOT come with fries!??? I asked for a children's burger for my child and received a "Mickey burger". I never ordered a Mickey burger!! When I asked where the fries were the waitress was VERY rude and stated " It says right there on the menu burgers do not come with fries. " so I opened the menu and clearly it states the kids options do in fact come with fries, a pop or a milkshake. When I showed her she asked if i wanted an order of small fries!!??? Then she got the drink wrong. Then the employee that was doing the garbage took out the garbage 2 feet away from us WHILE WE WERE EATING!!!!! I asked to speak to a manager she was sweet but did nothing but take my number down and have her boss call me. That phone call took place maybe 3 days later with a BIG ATTITUDE FROM THE "BOSS". She barley apologized stating the garbage needs to be taken out at a certain time. Even though people are eating 2 feet away from GARBAGE!!! She promised coupons but they never came. Typical diner, it was good and all but honestly for the prices I would expect them to inject a large portion into the atmosphere because it feels in need of some love. The outside doesn't look appealing at all. The inside is a little better but still leaves much to be desired. A super deep clean and a straight up purchase of new decorations that still have that vintage feel would be appreciated. And again the food is good but not something I would write to my grandma about and certainly not at the prices. I was a little amazed by what I saw. I would go back only if someone else suggested it but I would never take someone on purpose. Unless they had better specials and did a complete overhaul on the atmosphere.
