Shoe's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Valparaiso

We ordered shoe bites, large pizza, 20 wings, and drinks I asked the girl twice to make sure the wings were extra crispy. Everything came out hot and in a timely manner. We got two different flavors on the wings and all 20 wings were soggy, not at all crispy or even extra crispy like I asked twice. I spoke with a gentleman at the front and told him the wings were soggy and that I asked for extra crispy. He told me that today was .50 wing day and that they try to keep the wings in longer but way too busy to make them crispy. I said I asked twice for extra crispy when I ordered and they said okay. He just looked at me and shrugged, said we can't do that on wing day. I went back to our table. When the waitress came around I asked her the gentleman name I was speaking with about the wings, she said that's Chris Shoemaker the owner. What a shame, the owner didn't offer to make our food right or remove from our bill. That is bad business. I wasted my money and left those wings to go into the garbage. It is so expensive to eat out these days and when we do go somewhere to support a business we do expect to get what we pay for. It's terrible the response I received from the owner. I was hungry and this spot seemed to draw me in. I was hoping for some good food at the minimum.

My significant other and I walked inside. I looked at the menu on the wall and then we proceeded to the counter underneath the Order sign. From the Pizzas section, we got a 12” Medium Cheese for $12.50. From the Apps section, they had Shoe Bites (garlic or cinnamon) for $4.99 and we chose garlic. From the same section, we got Onion Rings for $4.99. I ordered a diet pepsi for $2.89.

We got to choose our table, so that was convenient. They started to bring out our order fairly fast. The diet pepsi was smooth and so was the free refill. The Onion Rings were crispy and full of flavor. I loved them. The Shoe Bites had a nice flow of garlic everywhere. I liked them. The 12” Medium Cheese came to the table looking fabulous. I was excited to grab a slice. The sauce and the cheese played together nicely. I was a fan of this pizza.

The service was friendly and fast throughout my visit. I was impressed by that.

Overall, this spot gave me some awesome food for some good prices. I would like to go back someday.

Picked up an order for 5pm. 5 people behind me received their order, which made me think I was missed, which can totally happen. I asked about my order, replied rudely was a woman who said “First come first serve.” I replied then I should have gotten my order 5 people ago. Chose to not get a sausage pizza, but work on other pizzas. The gentleman with the glasses, the owner? Responded rudely too. They finally make my sausage, but forgot my wings. The man walked to the back, sent another woman out to ask me what I ordered? After waiting another 10 minutes, they bring me my order with a here you go. No apology, no thank you. Customer curtesy goes a long way. After 30 minutes from my pick up time, I finally got my food. Pizza places are a dime a dozen, because of the way I was treated I will never go back.
