Subway — Restaurant in Valparaiso

The worst subway sandwich I have ever gotten! Like others have mentioned, "the afternoon employee" (African American person) is not qualified for the job. In fact it appeared to me that he was in no mood to work at all. He would ask a question but not at all listen to what my reply was. He completely forgot to toast after putting the cheese on the sandwich and when I asked him to toast it after the toppings on it, he threw a fit and started blabbering. I had two sandwiches and even after clarifying multiple times, the sandwiches were fully messed up. I totally gave up by the time it was the time to select a sauce. Other's assessment is right that he was high, I ate my sandwich in the car outside there restaurant and he came out and smoked weed thrice in that short duration. Absolutely unhygienic person. i came into subway at 9:25 to order two footlongs and Christian was right there to greet us with a genuine smile on his face. My girlfriend and I proceed to order and halfway thru he realized he was out of avocados which is a key ingredient in the mexicali. Christian went above and beyond to get avocados for the sub. He upheld a standard that you very rarely see anymore. He engaged in conversation and asked about our day and our plans after we leave subway and it was just very refreshing to see someone who actually takes pride in what they do and actually know that their job is a place of employment and not enjoyment. The service at this location is terrible. The one on the north side of Valpo is MUCH better. This store seems like it's always running out of something. They are always understaffed and under trained, causing extremely long wait times. Also something is always broken... toaster oven, pop machine, ect. Credit card machine is down half the time. Staff has gotten really bad lately. Talking on their personal phones WHILE making sandwiches, headphones in and many of them take 10 minutes to make a single sandwich.
