Willingham Seafood Company — Restaurant in Valparaiso

This family run establishment is excellent because they own their fishing boat which allows them to catch fresh all of their seafood offerings early in the morning and sell them the same day they come out of the water. Secondly their prices are unbeaten by other local fresh seafood markets. And thirdly, the folks that work here are extremely friendly, kind, and while obviously knowledgeable about seafood, take the time with newcomers or uncertain customers to ensure they get what they need or are looking for.

The pictures I have attached are of a pallella I made utilizing their large head-on shrimp, which when cleaned allowed me to make a homemade seafood stock from the heads and shells which I used in my pallella to ramp up the flavor. In the mis en plas picture they are in the red ramekin.

Truly the best, freshest seafood in Destin-Fort Walton area. The Willingham family has been fishing the fulf waters for years. Huge shrimp, Red Fish, Snapper and more. The last time we visited, my spouse didn't see a snapper filet she liked. The gentleman immediately asked her if she liked a whole snapper that was on display by the filets. She said yes, and without missing a beat, we were handed two beautiful snapper filets from that fish. Staff are friendly, helpful, service oriented. The store is always clean and never fishy...

We always enjoyed buying shrimp and other seafood for our family get-together boils. We have been going here since 2007. Always greeted with a smile with a grandfatherly face. Some of the best prices in town and shrimp right off the boat. They offer boiling seasonings and sauces for you. It can be hard to miss it if you are not familiar with the area.
