Sorry guys! I wanted to give you guys a higher rating, but too many problems prevented that. Our server was atrocious. We ordered a combination plate, the agave burrito, and the agave sampler. For the combo plate, nothing was asked about meat preferences, and none were given on the menu. I waved that off because I figured that it was a default combo, and I really didn't have a preference. The agave burrito was supposed to be either grilled chicken or steak, but the server wrote it down and dashed off before we had a chance to say anything.
Fast forward to the Agave Sampler arriving at the table. It did not include have of what the menu stated. Per the menu, it should have had a cheese quesadilla, a chicken quesadilla, a fried chicken burrito, a fried chicken taquito, and 4 stuffed jalapeños. What we received was a cheese quesadilla, a chicken quesadilla, and 5 stuffed jalapeños that looked like, and tasted like, they were straight out of a frozen package from Meijer. The quesadillas were not even grilled enough to melt the cheese. The chicken was cold and had no seasoning.
The main courses were just as bad. The combo was a beef enchilada and a chicken tamale, with a side of refried beans and rice. The enchilada was just unseasoned ground beef wrapped up in a flour tortilla and drowned in bland enchilada sauce. The tamale was 90% masa with just a shred or two of chicken, again very bland. The Agave burrito was also disappointment, at least the chicken was grilled as stated in the menu (we wanted steak, but didn't have time to wait on a remake), had no cheese except for some watery queso looking substance near the ends of the burrito.
Our server spent most of their time sitting at the bar watching TV and had to be flagged down for everything. They did not voluntarily ask if things were alright, or if we needed a refill.
When I cashed out at the front register and brought all of this up, there was no apology, no sense of customer care. They just took a whopping $4 off our bill and gave me the new total.
I give three stars for the atmosphere because the place was clean, there were TVs showing sports, and others seemed to be having a good time.
I had high hopes for you guys, but I will not...
Read moreThis place had a great atmosphere! It was so cute, and very clean. Not to mention the food was amazing! The chicken in my chimichangas was so flavorful and juicy. Also, the chips and salsa were one of the best of any Mexican restaurant! The only thing that I didn't like was the Xango, it said it was supposed to have cinnamon and honey, but instead had chocolate and caramel sauce so I was kind of disappointed. They were also out of ice cream which I was told, but it kind of sucked that i had to pay the same price. It was also kind of tiny for $7. But everything else was amazing!
I wanted to edit my review and say that after going again, I love this place even more. The food was wonderful like usual, and their lunch specials were such a great price. But what stood out this time was the service. They went above and beyond to find my sister's retainer when she left it in a napkin on the table and it got thrown away. Another reason for...
Read moreThe restaurant is very clean and well decorated. Wait staff was friendly. Could definitely tell they are new to the server life. Let’s get to the food, we ordered a botana added beef, and a dinner special of a burrito, enchilada, and a Tamale. With a side of rice and beans. The botana was mostly lettuce and green peppers, barley any meet even with adding extra meet. The dinner special was ok, the ground beef just seemed really wet and definitely tasted microwaved. The tamale was great though. The rice and beans were ok watery and rice was dry, when I say dry I mean you know when you microwave or cook rice to long the rice it self gets crispy. Upon getting the bill they charge 1 for a side of sour cream, I’ve never had a dinner of enchiladas not come with it but that don’t matter. Food was ok just tasted bland...
