Very big and open space, allowing lots of sound to travel and distort, with the decor and vibe of a trapper keeper from the 90s and, unquestionably too many televisions. I'm almost certain that the table I was seated at was painted with the same pattern and font as my junior high yearbook. Most distractingly, there was a bar-branded music channel on one television (the only one that wasn't on some sporting nonsense), yet it was not synced up to the music playing in the bar. It was an independent series of 90s music videos playing to other music. One channel being turned to almost anything else, with subtitles, would have been appreciated.
As it was, I can confidently say that watching a baseball game get interrupted with a downpour, at which point a team of groundskeepers quickly and expertly bring out a series of tarps to cover the diamond and mound and such was by far the most impressive feat of teamwork and athleticism I have ever seen in a baseball game.
The selection of ciders was alright. Or party was pretty pleased with the food (though I did have to have my grilled cheese remade, because I am very allergic to pork and it came out with the bacon on it that I had specifically asked be withheld). I do wish the selection of cheeses in the grilled cheese were better; by combining swiss and American, one is overloading the sandwich with bland, gross "cheeses", instead of throwing in a pepper jack or applewood smoked cheddar or something that would add nuance and flavor. Perhaps at least the option to sub out the American "cheese" for something better.
That said, the portions are generous, the fries were great, I'm told the jalapeno sliders and spicy chicken sandwich were great, the tortilla soup seemed pretty popular, and there were a few things we could have stood to try. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We will almost certainly be back...
Read moreEverything was AMAZING! We had ordered to go/pick up food. While two things weren’t available due to not having them and/or no longer available (mozzarella sticks - not currently available & Cheese Juicy burger - no longer offered) - not even a worry as I was between a number of menu items! When calling in the order, the worker on the phone promptly offered cheese curds as a replacement for the mozzarella sticks. I went with the Beer Cheeseburger as a replacement to the Cheese Juicy burger and my fiancé got the Texan burger. Everything was absolutely delicious! Between the curds (and we are from the Midwest - capital of the cheese curd game), beer cheese, burgers, fries, and tots - SO GOOD! The atmosphere as a whole was wonderful as we walked in to pick up our order. We stayed to have a drink while waiting - of note, this wasn’t necessary as our food was ready as they said it would be. But we just marveled at the beautiful artwork on the walls, bar top, and every table (high top and booths). LOVE that all of the TV’s had a FULL variety of every sport you could possibly want - which is not what you find in most places. The shirts/hoodies/gear look amazing & will likely be back to purchase. And lastly - pinball & Pac Man machines?! Yes please! This has become quite lengthy, but very worth it. The staff was super friendly and it looks like a solid outdoor space to chill. We saw this place come up amidst the pandemic and were in awe of that (on its own), but this was the first time we took advantage of this locally owned space. We will absolutely be back to try more items and likely watch some NFL games (please, please maybe have the Bears playing!) and more. Cheers and thanks for...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place…I really did. Ate here 6 times. Mostly on Wednesdays and Fridays. First the positive: The staff is super attentive and friendly. The manager or owner comes by the table every time to check on us. The nachos with pork is good and so are the fried pickles and bone-in chicken wings. The bacon wrapped asparagus was tasty too. I tried four meals off the main menu and the only thing I liked was the pulled pork sliders. The atmosphere is loud and distracting but it’s a sports bar so it’s expected. We never had to wait for a seat even during March madness. If you like IPAs they have a good selection and you’ll find something you’ll like. Now the not so positive: The beer cheese sauce gets cold super fast and turns gelatinous on your hamburger. The halibut fish and chip is not PNW worthy. The breading seemed like panko and not a nice crispy beer batter like you’d hope for. The fish itself was not flaky. It seemed more like it was ground and formed and frozen. Expect to pay $12.00 to $15.00 for most items on the appetizer menu. They don’t really have anything that’s gluten free. The best they seem to be able to do is wrap a burger in lettuce. Every time we went they only had one choice of dark or stout beer. Lastly, at last nights meal they got one meal order wrong and forgot a to-go order. Once this was brought to their attention they fixed it but, of course, we had to wait. Also, the ice water tasted off. Almost like the glasses were washed with bleach and not rinsed well. Again, I really wanted to like your place and I felt like I gave it a good run. There are just so many really good restaurants out there and the...
