My hub and I love checking out new eateries, especially new additions to Felida, which has very few options. We went to LP with an open mind and willingness to cut some slack as they had only been open for 8 days. The space is vast and sparse and was fairly busy for a week night. We were warmly greeted and seated, but as soon as we declined drinks, our waitress cooled to the temp of our ice water. After taking our food order, we did not see her again until it was time to pay. As per most Mexican restaurants, they start you with chips and salsa. Chips were good, but the salsa was watery and bland. No heat, no acid, no ripe tomato-y punchiness. We also were served a little side of cabbage salad. Seemed odd to us, but was just okay.
The menu (which is huge) has tons of starred items, however there is no guide as to what the stars mean. We also noticed several people seated around us who thought they were ordering less expensive items, only to realize they were actually looking at the lunch menu, which is the first page you see when you open the menu. I ended up ordering a sangria from some random server. It was on the smallish side and had no fruit in it. I squeezed my wedges of citrus from the rim and tossed them in. It was very tasty.
We noticed the portion sizes were massive so we ordered off the “small combos” section of the menu. Both items were still huge and were your basic cheesy, refried bean-y, run of the mill American-style Mexican food. Our entrees sorely lacked seasoning and had none of the vibrancy of traditional Mexican food. I guess we were hoping for something different. We really wanted to like LP, however, I doubt we’ll return. Not because it was bad, per se, but because it was...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced.I have never been more compelled to enlightened other consumers of the crude and disrespectful encounter we had. One particular waiter was the rudest most condescending individual I have ever came across in the customer service field. The minute it was time to place our order, I was asking the waiter if they had a bean and cheese burrito and he so kindly opened my menu to tell me, “I clearly didn’t read the menu” making a snide comment that I should of, because I had been seated for long enough to do so. My friend tried to order the exact same item and he got even more absurd and disrespectful. I thought this behavior warranted a managers attention, so when I escalated my concerns to the manager, who identified himself as the owner, he too, had an identical attitude of arrogance and disrespect. It clearly made perfect sense as we left the building of the dismissive and defensiveness of our concerns because the owners son, was our waiter. Man, I would be mortified and ashamed to have my child represent my family business with such disgrace and lack of professionalism, but I guess the Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree at this restaurant. There are many great places to explore on your hard earned dime, be mindful of taking your business to this establishment. Unfortunately, we were with a larger group so the waiter that never so much as refilled a glass, basket of chips and spent his time berating his customers, walks out with a real nice tip. Pretty disappointed to...
Read moreWe've been there several times and never had an issue like we did on Friday night. They sat us in a tiny booth that my 80 year old mother was very uncomfortable in. She's not a large person but a little fuller on the top. She saw a larger booth open, which we've sat in several times, and wanted to move. When we got up, the main waiter, who I know, can be on the louder side, literally yelled we couldn't sit there because it was for groups of 4 or more. Another waiter joined in, so we had 2 people making a scene until everyone was looking at us. Then, he made a comment about FITTING in a smaller booth and told us to go sit at a table basically in the back room. We did because we were so embarrassed, but a hard chair was painful on my mothers bad back. Then when another waiter came to get our order he explained, in a very condescending way, that that's how they make their money, on larger parties so they save those booths for 4 or more people. At one point, when my mother said she understood that, he interrupted and said, "Then why do you keep questioning what I'm saying......you know how it works, so why are you doubting me?" What's funny is 3 of the 4 booths sat empty for about 45 minutes to an hour. We were so embarrassed we won't be going back. No one deserves to be treated like that. And to be told you can't sit where you're comfortable because your party of 2 doesn't make as much money as a party of 4 is beyond rude and poor...
