First, I will say the food is amazing. I love tropical smoothie Cafe and I always order food from here. My favorite smoothie is Bahama mama and my husband likes the pomegranate plunge. The management however is very presumptious in making accusations. I order using the grub hub app. Someone called me accusing me of playing games with ordering and canceling and reordering. Now obviously, the fault lies with grub hub drivers not delivering to the correct address, but there has also been plenty of instances where I genuinely did not receive and item or two. So, am I not supposed to be reimbursed for those missing items. Yet and still I continue to order in hopes that my order will be correct because we really like the smoothies and food. The problem I had, and why I gave negative stars was how management spoke to me before even finding out my frustrations with using the grub hub app. She had a really nasty tone and was rude. I apologized and explained to her my POV. She was still rude but had calmed down a little. How can you call a customer and accuse them of playing games, and then proceed to tell them they can no longer order from this store. I listened to her frustrations and understood where she was coming from as this only ever happens with my orders she said. As I've stated before, the fault lies with Grub hub. But that does not excuse anyone to accuse and be so rude about a problem without learning about what is truly going on. I hope that person doesn't call anyone...
Read moreI ran into this store on accident. It was a hot day in August and I thought a smoothie would be perfect so I stopped and got one. The first time I ordered, the front desk person was a nice young girl that asked if I'd ever been there before suggested I try the Watermelon Smoothie. She was right. It was one of the best smoothies I've ever had -- not too sweet and refreshing. The second time, the cashier was talking to someone and didn't even bother to say hi. Only after I said it a couple of times did she greet me back. However the food was good so I went back. Today I walked into the cafe and there she was again attending the drive through. She looked at me and didn't say a word. I got to the counter and she didn't even act like I existed. Someone from the back came out and greeted me and took my order. When the food was prepared the girl from the drive through brought me my wrap. She dropped it on my table and walked away as if I was some garbage. I literally did not want the food or drink anymore. I was a happy customer due to the friendly service and tasteful product during the first visit but she has convinced me never to go back. No matter how great the product, with that kind of service you have convinced me never to go back. Update: service has changed a great deal to the positive. I've been back about 5 times now and each time the service was fast, friendly and I felt valued....
Read moreI've been going here for years and am about to give up on them. It's getting more and more inconstitent. Last week my $7 smoothie tasted awful. Like a green unripe banana. This week I politely asked if they could please not use green bananas. When I tasted my smoothie it was apparent no banana was used at all. Also, both breakfast wraps I ordered last week were hot on one end and cold on the other and not heated through. I know these are young kids that are working here but they still need to work on turning out a good product everytime. I would enjoy their menu if they just took more care in preparing the food the way its supposed to be presented and be consistent every time. UPDATE-November 2018.
