Usually I really like Burgerville, but tonight's visit was an astounding miss.
Came through at about 8:30PM. No line in the drivethrough at all. Ordered a burger and fries, not in a combo meal. Pulled up to the first window, the guy held the card reader out the window, and told me to pick an option (I couldn't really hear him, he talked fast, plus the noise of traffic driving by outside) and then I could make the payment.
The text on the card reader screen was tiny and I could barely read it. But, it showed options on it for a tip. 0%, 15%, or 20%. I couldn't figure out which button to push because the screen showed to press 1, 2 or 3, but the buttons on the keypad started with 4 and went up to 9 and 0. It took me a minute to figure out that they'd covered the 1-3 buttons with the 0%, 15%, and 20% labels.
Tipping? On drive through? At a place that, to my knowledge, pays their workers a fair wage and provides benefits (I just checked their website; while I don't know what exactly they pay their workers, they do provide benefits, and even tuition reimbursement). This...didn't feel right, but I went ahead and hit the button for 15% because I would've felt guilty hitting 0%. Drove up to the second window and my food was handed out the window within about a minute.
I drove straight home, about 5 minutes, and sat down to eat.
The fries? Crispy, hot, perfectly salted deliciousness.
The burger? Polaroid worthy. Seriously, it looked like what they could have put it on their menu. It would have been so much better if it were hot. Don't get me wrong, it was definitely hot at some point, the burger was cooked through, but this had clearly been left out from under the heat lamp for some time.
I'm so, so disappointed. Even more so now that I handed this place 15% on top of whatever my bill was to be given cold food. I know, it's not a large amount of money, but it's the principle...
Read moreWow this went down hill. I don't eat meat anymore much, but went for one of my old favs, bacon cheeseburger. The bacon is SO much worse quality than before, way thinner. It's microwave bacon now..used to be real pepper bacon. The patties seems way thinner than ever..I jus remember the burger bein so goos. Paid 35$ for a drink two fries(one reg) and two sandwiches that are not big(the halibut is horrendously small) and more expensive than a burger joint. Insanely bad. I don't understand the price point at all when the quality went way down and the sizing. I don't need that much food but it's the price for what they give that deserves one star. Never goin back now and neither will anyone around me once they know the size n quality went down while price went up. Hook me up with a free burger and I'll leave a positive review. I deserve it for finally eatn meat and having it be jus completely underwhelming. I deserve it tho ha, burgerville showing me not to do so..change my mind, hook it up..I'm poor and hungry ha Jus remembered..I totally remember the burger..was pepper bacon wth a sesame bun and was the regular size, not the 1/2 one I bought that was 12..that burger seemed bigger than a freakn 1/2 burger..a 1/2 burger should be huge. The old one was bigger seeming with a totally different outfit of food on it for less....
Read moreI used to love coming here as a kid & young adult, the service & food is nothing like it used to be. I will NEVER eat at another Burgerville again. Not only did they change their chicken strip recipe, heavily breaded & hard outer crisp, but their fries were not fresh & over cooked. I wanted to exchange my meal as soon as I had 1 fry & saw the chicken strips. Kai, the manager, proceeded to enter in my new charge for my new meal, regardless of not eating my other meal. I said the fries are cold & hard, he touched them w his hand & said, “okay, I’ll take the fries off”, & charged me for a small squished double cheeseburger with the thinnest burger patties & doused in spread. An additional $7.49 even though I didn’t touch the chicken strips & wanted to throw them away, see pic.
I rarely return food anywhere, & if I have, I’ve never been charged more for another meal. If the customer isn’t satisfied, with cold hard chicken strips, they shouldn’t be charged to get something they would eat instead.
Touching the fries in the same basket as chicken strips, then charging extra for a burger replacement at an already over priced fast food restaurant, not my idea of a...
