I am four months pregnant and had been craving the Botticelli Brownie Sundae ALL week. So finally over the weekend, I made the 45 minute drive down arriving about 40 minutes before the store was supposed to close. As I tried to enter the shop, I was hit with a closed sign. Even though the listed hours of operations posted on the window conflicted with the now posted Closed sign on the door. Noticing a few few employees walking around, I knocked on the window, to ask what was going on. That's when I was informed that they had sold out of most of the ice cream, on a Saturday night, so they were closing up shop.... "Most" of their ice cream? To me, that meant that there was still SOME ice cream available. Yet one employee after another, walked up and refused to sell me any ice cream. That's when I asked for a manager and behind him, I noticed an entire cake in the front cooler. Why couldn't I have a slice if cake?! That's when he said "You want a piece of cake? I can do that for you. Would you like a fork too? " Heck yeah I wanted a fork too and two minutes later, I was given the most delicious slice of cake, at no charge, that I had EVER eaten in my life. THANK YOU! All the people who came up to the window and spoke with me had the ability to help me and chose not to. That is, except for the manager and I am forever grateful for his choice to try an rectify the situation to the best of his...
Read moreDespite reaching out online -- which I was told was the only way to communicate with the owner regarding the poor service experience. There was no follow-up. This shows a disregard for the customer that doesn't merit any further support of this business. A real training opportunity should have happen with staff -- after the experience that was had! There is much better ice cream elsewhere & certainly better customer service! I (and family) have gone here for years. Never again!
☆ Update: I did not receive any communication from the owner, especially in the window of time indicated in the response by the (owner) below the initial review; no follow-up, nor questions regarding the experience. I am rather baffled by the owner's response. I don't generally post a review -- so the experience has to be quite poor, and devoid of any reasonable communication or means to do so with the owner to merit one. It should not be difficult to address poor customer service. One would hope there wouldn't be any issues to address with the owner. I am not interested in spending more time on this issue. I am only currently responding for this update because I think it is important that people know that there was no response by the owner despite claims to...
Read moreI come from the Midwest which has frozen custard, so I’ll preface my review stating I like very creamy ice cream. For reference, my favorite ice cream in the grocery store is Hagen-Dazs vanilla because it’s the most like vanilla frozen custard. Anywhozels… The strawberry ice cream was slightly more like creamed ice… too much ice content, good flavor though. The honey vanilla ice cream was also too icy, and I was searching for both the honey flavor and the vanilla. I prefer the double fold vanilla of Salt and Straw, as well as Hagen-Dazs vanilla, and frankly McDonalds vanilla cone if I’m sharing everything about myself. The bittersweet milk chocolate was my favorite I tried, as it was the creamiest one I tried and the flavor was rich. My dad ordered it in a cup with marshmallow cream and that was dank. I would go back to give it another try. I would try the POG flavored sorbet and the lemon Lisa ice cream, hoping they’re packed with zingy flavor.
EDIT on 7/17/89: I revisited their strawberry and it was less icy, and BOY is their Cookies and Cream good; it is the best I’ve ever had. So, perhaps somewhat inconsistent creaminess at this joint but golly that cookies and cream is something to...
