So we purchased for pickup and the atmosphere was cool, fun, everyone in there was enjoying themselves. Finding parking can be time consuming on the main street strip (depending on the day/time) but thats if you go to any of the multitude of places in the general area, so its not really a factor if you're in it for good food. We ordered a 22" Cheese, Sausage and a Vegan Garden. Wow, the size of these pizzas are huge and i'll say this, a great bang for your buck, the cheese pizza was $26, but it'll literally, each slice, will feed a person, its so gigantic.
It was easy to order and the pickup was easy too, people were attentive and polite. It was rocking in there, lots of things going on, loud, lots of people and they just seemed cool, calm and collected. They know what they're doing, no amateurish things going on.
So the crust here is phenomenal, its exactly what you'd expect from a NY style pizza and it sits somewhere in my top 3-5 places in Vancouver, its not gimmicky in any way, its business with this pizza. They've done a really good job dialing it in and this is one you shouldn't miss, no joke, especially being that they're an exceptional watering hole at the same time, so its a match made in heaven and you can consume whichever at whatever pace you choose if you eat/drink on site. Thats kinda dope!
The vegan pizza was a surprise because many places are still dialing in their ratios of vegan cheese to sauce to toppings etc... and sometimes you tend to lose some of the taste in the mix, its happened to me at some pretty awesome spots which isn't a ding because at least they offer it, right? However, theirs was awesome, if you're a vegan, this is a good one, this is worth your time and hard earned money, their pesto is amazing. Its well thought out and you can tell time has been put in to getting it right, really really good vegan pizza.
Actually, just really really good pizza period, both the cheese and the sausage (we added Jalapenos) had the perfect bake, spot on, its the kind of pizza where you know you shouldn't go back to the box for more but you will anyway. The box itself is super artsy and cool but I will say this, being a darker color it bleeds a little bit of ink so wash ya...
Read moreI get really frustrated because usually nobody will pick up the phone. Also they will put delivery available on their website but it’s impossible to get seemingly on Tuesdays for some reason. On Tuesdays they consistently don’t answer or call back for delivery. It’s very frustrating. We have tried calling multiple times today, it just rings forever and we have also tried using their delivery phone extension (they have 2 options when you try calling, one is trying to talk to someone and the other is for delivery and the delivery voicemail says to leave your name and number and they will call back but we can’t get ahold of them either and they haven’t called back. We also really miss their vegetarian nosh plate, it’s rare to find vegetarian (not vegan) food that seems thoughtful because most of the time places just cater to either meat & seafood OR vegan and honestly we don’t like vegan cheese or products at all) I wish they had at the very least kept their dips (we found we loved using the yellow sauce and pesto on our pizzas) and we can at least still get a side of Pesto which I love smothering a red sauce pizza in but the yellow sauce (which had I known they were going to stop offering the Nosh Plate I wouldn’t ordered tons of sides of and stick it in the fridge) - for future use. Please consider bringing back the nosh plate either the pickled veggies, different cheeses and 3 sauces with what seemed like hot fresh soft baguette bread that was amazing.
Secondly please pick up the phone or if you aren’t going to be offering delivery on Tuesdays can you please just update it so people like us don’t know what’s going on so we just keep calling and calling. It’s a bummer because in my opinion it’s the only good pizza...
Read moreWe have been exploring the various bars, pubs, & tap rooms that have popped up in the downtown Vancouver, WA area and a few weeks back we got around to The Thirsty Sasquatch. It's a nicely named, small & cozy place with an outside area that I'm sure is popular in nice weather. We went out there to see what it looked like and it was full of a younger crowd and pot smoke--to each their own, but not our thing. We have friends that like this place, so we were hopeful. Turns out there were plenty of others enjoying the place, but it just isn't a good fit for us. I enjoy going to bars for drinks with my husband, but do not partake in alcohol normally. He grabs his drink and I order a pop of some kind. But you can't do that here. They do not serve non-alcoholic beverages except water and I felt as if I had irritated them by even asking. It was explained to me that they are okay with you bringing your own and they pointed at the small gas station market across the street as an option of a place to go get my own. Well that right there kinda ruined the moment. Seriously? What about all of us designated drivers? You would think they'd be supportive of that, but apparently not so much. So I skipped having any drink at all and my husband had his. He likes a variety of beers and drinks so normally he does fine, but the one he took a chance on that night wasn't too good either. So bottom line--for us it was bad fit. But that doesn't necessarily mean it will be the same for you. I say most places are worth at least trying. So check them out and see if you've found a new place to frequent or one you'll join us in...
