Had high hopes for this as the menu, restaurant decor, and the name, implied great sushi and noodles. Sushi was good and the rolls and nigiri were on par with some of the other good sushi offerings in Vancouver. The noodles and other items, however, were not exactly to our liking. For the xia long bao, the dumplings were touching, fused together in the bamboo steamer and could not be separated without tearing and losing all the broth inside. Spicey wonton were good, but not great, or spicey at all. Needs Szechuan peppercorn oil to be great. Lastly, for a place that claims to be a noodle house, the noodles, specifically the wonton noodle soup, was lacking. Broth was clear, but flavorless and the noodle texture was mushy and weak. No body to the noodles at all. The staff was kind and helpful, but as someone who has been to the best noodle houses in the world, they need to work on a few things with the noodle side of the menu. Presentation and look is there, just need the flavors and attention to detail to come together.

Surprisingly good sushi, especially given that it's a spin off of the Chinese restaurant next door. (in case that wasn't obvious enough by the word Kung Fu in the name, we saw staff moving back and forth with stock items). We had the soup dumplings to start, which were a bit disappointing - they were a little gluey. I had the chirashi and my husband had the unagi don. The portions were small, but it was nice to see the fish sliced thinly instead of just a hacked off half inch hunk of meat. The fish was fresh and flavorful, though the unagi was a little too soft. The rice was nicely seasoned and perfectly prepared, not clumpy and starchy but shiny and slightly sticky. I would have liked a little more vinegar in it, but it was good. The dining area was very clean and had nice enough decor furnishings, nothing special but not run down. Would definitely recommend stopping in, especially if you're wanting decent sushi but aren't wanting to drive to Portland.

My daughter and I have never had sushi before and she was dying to try it. After reading all the amazing reviews, we decided this will be the place to try! Ive never been the biggest fan of fish but I knew there was stuff there we would enjoy. We started with the fried calamari. This has been, by far, the best calamari I've ever had!! We ordered the pork belly noodles in case we hated the sushi and those were absolutely amazing! For the sushi, we ordered the House Roll (it was loaded with ingredients we knew we would enjoy) and the Spicy Tuna Roll. Never in my life did we think we would ever put raw fish into our mouths and enjoy the experience. The staff were super friendly and the restaurant has an incredible esthetic. The prices (compared to others in the area) are surprising - in a good way! Great place for a quick lunch! 10/10 Recommended and will definitely go again!

My husband and I went into this restaurant for dinner and were pretty disappointed. I ordered the pork belly noodle bowl. The waitress and I talked about how spicy it was, so she knew I also placed an order.

Several minutes later (which already seemed too long), she brought my husband his order... but not mine. After what seemed like 10 minutes or more I finally went and asked about my order. The waitress went into the kitchen and spoke with the cook. I went back to my seat and waited for what seemed like another 10 minutes for my order to be served. It was clear to me, my order was forgotten.

About my order... I expected there to be more pork belly in it than there actually was. The amount of meat was negligible. Not enough to even be considered, but just enough to legally call it pork belly. I'd say it was the equivalent of a half inch strip of thick bacon cut into 5 tiny pieces swallowed up by a bowl of noodles. It was ridiculous.

When it was finally served, there was no apology for the delay, no explanation or compensation. So my husband left no tip and wrote on the ticket "my wifes order was forgotten".

When we left, the waitress followed us out to our car and said my order was not forgotten, it took longer for my order to be made that's why it took so long for it to be served. It was just noodles and tiny bits of pork belly. How long does that take? It's a noodle place, the same noodles in my husbands dish just a different sauce or broth. And if that's the case, why not wait until mine was finished and then serve both dishes at the same time?

It was our second time...

$76 was charged to my card without my permission! I left the tip area blank and they charge me more than $12 dollars! They did not give me ALL my food, the Beef noodles soup was missing (they knew and made marks on the receipt in Japanese or Chinese) and when I complaint about they got offended and refuse to give me the item or my money back. They said they charge me $64 for the Cold miso soup, the tiny small amount of calamari, and noodles but my USBank alerted me that they charge me more than $76 dollar. Their portions are smaller than airplane food and the fried calamari had a brick dark color with a bad smell. The Edamame was dried and super salty, you can see the salt on the box. The charge me at least 11 for the beef soup but it was not in the bag when I picked up. Their costumers service it’s very sexist and patronizing. At the end I tried to return all the ā€œuntouched foodā€ and get my money back, but they got very upset because they said it was already prepare and they were super busy and did not had time to deal with my $12 extra charge on my credit card. This was traumatic experience, I don’t think I will ever eat at a...

2nd time ordering from here, 1st was a Togo order and second was a dine in. I ordered the Lanzhou beef noodle soup both times, first time around, it held up nicely on a 45 min drive home and tasted great which is why I ordered it a second time. My mistake. It was terrible. No taste whatsoever. Like all the flavor had been boiled out, the only difference between the broth, noodles and beef was texture because it all tasted the same. I tried to dress it up with soy sauce but it didn’t help 3 small bites in and I was done. Waiter came by and asked how the food was, we mentioned our great disappointment in the soup and he said ā€œOkay, can I fill your water?ā€ Like okay? Why ask if you don’t care? I didn’t need it off my bill but he could have at the least offered ways to dress it up, maybe veggies or bring different sauces like black vinegar/Chinese soy sauce/ chili oil so I could season their food myself? As for their sushi, I can’t say but considering how bland and tasteless their soup and side dishes were, I definitely won’t be back...
