Thai Terrace, the two women who were your waitresses on closing duty March 5, 2025 are a major problem. Here's what happened:
My partner and I get there at 7:55 pm. Since the hours say it's open until 9, I figured it would be quite easy to get in, order, eat dinner, pay and leave before the restaurant closed. Unfortunately, Waitress A started to almost immediately harass us. She let us know where to sit, brought menus and then one minute later brought water, asking if we were ready to order. I told her that it was my first time ever eating at Thai Terrace and a few minutes to look over the menu would be helpful. She rolled her eyes and sighed, saying she would come back. She came back a minute later (and this is not an exaggeration, it was AT MOST a minute and a half) and asked if we were ready to order yet again. Yet again we told her no. She did it AGAIN, came back one minute later. We asked her for two Thai teas, and I was hoping it would make her leave us alone for a few minutes so I could think and read the menu. She hurried back with both our iced teas and asked if we were "ready to order nooooooow?" We told her, very firmly, NO we were not ready. (If anything, her constant harassment and annoyance was making it HARDER to figure out what to order!) She rolled her eyes again and said "Ok I come back in FIVE minutes and you order then." We agreed. She was back in less than 3 minutes, which I would know because at this point I was so angry and anxious that I was keeping track of it on my phone. In the first 13 minutes in the restaurant, she bullied and rushed us five times, which is an INSANE ratio. However, we put in our orders and waited for our food. If I had not been so hungry, I would have gotten up and left, which is what I feel like she wanted. Everybody in the restaurant was acting like they were trying to close early and us being there was a huge inconvenience.
Back to the waitresses though. Waitress B comes out with the appetizer and sets it down, so I thank her and try to enjoy the Golden Flower (which is a thin, crispy rangoon with very light crab flakes in the cream cheese). Our entrees come out in record time, a few minutes apart from each other which was fine, and they're pretty good (garden curry noodles and panang curry were both nice, standard lightly spicy, fragrant, coconut milky flavor).
Waitress A comes by five minutes after we get our food and asks if we want anything else. We say no. Then Waitress B comes out at 8:26 pm and asks if we want anything else. We say no. TWO MINUTES LATER AT 8:28 PM, WAITRESS A DOES THE SAME THING AGAIN. I turn to her and say "Someone just asked me that two minutes ago, so no thank you and please let me eat!" That wasn't enough for her, though. Despite the both of us having two TOTALLY FULL water glasses, she came back five minutes later asking if we wanted more water. At that point, I was done with Thai Terrace. I asked for a to-go box and she brought it after the single check (and she never asked if we wanted to split the check or pay together, so that was obnoxious and unprofessional). It was 8:38pm when we left.
TL;DR , this was hands down, the MOST infuriating service I've experienced in a restaurant in years and in less than one hour, I have committed to never giving Thai Terrace my business ever again. If those waitresses get fired or quit, I will give it another chance because the food isn't bad, but I refuse to be pressured and rushed in a place I'm giving my business to when there's over an hour until closing. If the wait staff want to make it abundantly clear that they don't want me there, I...
Read moreSo my African-American family and I come in for dining. The restaurant is pretty empty, but we've eaten here several times before. So, no big deal. We wait around for a little bit because the people in the back looked busy getting orders ready. Finally someone looks up and I ask if we can be seated. Me: Can we be seated or can we sit anywhere? Worker: Do you have a reservation? Me: No Worker: You need reservation to eat here Me: Oh, ok. Then I'll order to-go Worker: points to menu Me: grabs menu and starts looking white woman walks in W.Woman: I was wondering if there is dine in service Me: They said only if you have a reservation W.Woman: oh.... Worker: Are you here to pick up an order? W. Woman: oh no, I wanted to know if my family of six can dine in? Worker: Ummm... we can only take 5 people or under. W. Woman: Well I have six, four of them are children. Me: We only came in the four of us Worker: Yeah, we can't take six, only five or under is allowed at the moment Me: Ummm hold on, you just told us that you wouldn't seat us, but to you would seat them??? They have more people, AND no reservation?!?
I toss the menu on the table and walk out with my family! One of the workers runs out after us changing her mind on letting us dine in. By that time, it was too late!
I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!! I'M AM THOROUGHLY DISGUSTED BY THESE ACTIONS AND DO NOT SUPPORT ANY BUSINESS THAT...
Read moreI have eaten here about three times and all three times, the food here is great. My review is more about their customer service and lack of cleanliness. My first time ever coming here, I was helped by the one of the young main female worker at the register with the big glasses. She has the worst customer service I have ever seen and she has such a bad, negative attitude. Her tone and facial expression while talking to you makes you feel not welcomed. My third (and final time) was today in which I came for pick-up and I noticed her encounter with another customer who was dining in. The fact that the gentleman had to come to the counter to ask for some napkins, shows me that they were never given any in the first place and that nobody has checked on them since they've gotten their food. She literally handed him ONE napkin when they had two people at the table and upon the gentleman asking if he can have some more, she handed him ONE more... Also as I was leaving the restaurant with my take-out, I noticed two employees taking a break in one of the booths in the corner. One was lying in the lap of the other as she was giving her a facial and popping pimples and wiping them on a napkin. This is no joke as I could not believe what was happening and had to keep watching to believe it myself... Overall, food is good and I believe in giving a restaurant multiple chances, but definitely not ever...
