Tofu and vegetables with a side of rice $16 and change. My house mate got shrimp chop Suey and egg flower soup. Portion was small the black plastic take away container is small. Also plastic with hot foods is not safe. My food tasted fine it was very plane Jane. Like they just cooked the veggies and tofu in a clear veggie broth and plopped In the to go container no spices no herbs nothing to give it any actual taste or flavor and they didnt cook the tofu it was just put in there raw with all the cooked veggies.. I guess I was expecting a little more. For veggies it was mostly Napa cabbage a few broccoli and a few snow peas. Nothing about my meal made me want to return My house mate said his shrimp chop suey had zero flavor said it didnt taste bad or anything like that but it just had no flavor. Also he said the egg flower soup was not good and after taking two spoonfuls he thru it out. And he loves egg flower soup so it must have been bad. The folks working there or the owners were very nice and welcoming thats why its too sad to have to rate only three stars.. but the food just did not impress us... Id give this place another shot next time I think ill dine in ... and try a...
Read moreI am going to give my honest opinion so the staff can consider correcting the minor issues. I’ll start by saying that the staff was very friendly and they were quick to have my order ready. The taste of the General Tso chicken is good even though there was a tiny little ball of some sort that I bit down on that was extremely hard. I’m not sure what it was. I’m not a huge fan of the way they prepare the chicken but the sauce is good.
Next, the crab wontons have very little flavor and there was only a tiny bit filling. I paid $10 and got less than 2 tablespoons of filling in 6 wontons, they could have added quite a bit more filling. The flavor of the sweet and sour sauce that comes with the crab wontons was not good in my opinion, it tasted slightly like mold but it could have been one of the seasonings they used in it. Good thing I had sweet chili sauce at home.
Lastly, the steamed rice was very dry. It didn’t taste bad but it was just very dry.
Overall I’d say this place is decent but definitely could use some work to make...
Read moreMy husband and I love trying out new restaurants near our home and kept seeing this all over social media with great reviews, so we decided to come in for dinner. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. Such a cute little restaurant. It’s located in the spot where Jerusalem Cafe used to be. The waiter brought us menus, water and complimentary hot tea right away. We chose to order one of their combo plates, chop suey and the salt and pepper shrimp. They even brought our compliments soup while we waited for our dinner. The portions were a pretty good size. The shrimp was really good and the general tso’s chicken had lots of sauce and lots of flavor. The chop suey was good but could use a little salt/seasoning. Service was wonderful. We even got 15% off our entire bill, which I’m assuming it’s because it’s still their “grand opening”. The restaurant started getting busy after we got there and saw a couple people come in to pick up to-go orders. Glad to see they’re doing so...
