I've been a patron of Captain Eddies for years, but after tonight, I will never go there again. I was served a lobster with black/green sludge in the tail (called tomalley- the digestive tract in the tail). I brought it to the server's attention and asked for a new one. She got the manager Sally, who was the rudest person I've ever encountered at a restaurant. She rudely told me I was the unlucky 1 in 5,000 to get the lobster with the tomalley still in it, and I just had to eat it. She refused to give me a new lobster and wasn't going to take it off my bill- because she's not just giving lobster away! What?! I'm supposed to pay for and eat a lobster that the FDA does not even recommend consuming. I'm shocked. I cannot believe Captain Eddie's would serve this, would do nothing to rectify it, and talk to me the way she did. Finally, she rudely and begrudgingly compd the foul lobster. It wasn't her doing right by the consumer, it was that I was not leaving until she did. I will never go to Captain Eddie's again, not because of the lobster, which is an easy mistake, but because of how nasty and rude management is to its patrons. There are so many better restaurants around. My advice is take your business to one of the other wonderful restaurants nearby that will serve you safe, delicious food and treat you well.

Delicious experience 🙂 I ordered the rocks shrimps, so tasty ! Their blue crab cake (you can order just 1 side of it) it’s delicious! The lobster roll was FULL of lobster, their cocktail shrimp also delicious! The side of cucumber salad also refreshing and healthier option 🙂 the combo platter is a great open to to have a taste of a variety of seafood! For drinks, delicious Bloody Mary and for dessert they their key like martini ! ! Our bartender and waiter / waitress Rachel & Nick were phenomenal and gaved fantastic recommendation 🙂 over all everything was delicious and great service 🙂 we were greeted and we were well taken cared off. The restaurant overall needs just a little touch of love & deep clean. Also, I believe it would be even tastier if the pickled beets would be from a locally made person ! 😉 just giving higher expectation and ideas! We will definitely be back 🙂 and we highly suggest this place 🙂👨🏻‍🍳 Also, fantastic concept that there’s the fish market where you can buy fresh local fish! They all looked SO fresh & very clean area! Very nice also that they sell all their homemade dipping sauce ! Come & try this place, you won’t be disappointed ! 🙂

In this review I'm only rating the outdoor patio which is different from the indoor restaurant portion. You enter from a separate entrance near the east side of the building.. Outdoor bar, lots of tables and live music. Overall the place has a great feel, the servers are really good and attentive. The reason for the 3 stars is the food quality. I ordered ribs with beans and cucumber salad... Very dissapointed... The ribs were warned and dry with a bunch of sauce on them to make up for the dryness. The wife ordered coconut shrimp with rice... The shrimp were a good size but undercooked, you could feel the batter was not not fully cooked. The rice had no flavor. Hey it was still a good experience but for what they charge for their meals they should do better. We will be back though... The service was really good and the beer is cooold!! 😂

I'm a Pescetarian, have been for several years, after being a weekly customer for over 1 year, at season's end they started a Lobster Special on Wednesday, the 1st time I tried it, it was great, the 2nd time I noticed there was no water in the plate which was strange for a Fresh Steamed Lobster, opening the Claws the meat stuck to the shell, which is Evidence of a Reheated Lobster. The next week I called ahead asking for the Manager, I mentioned the Dry Plate & the Meat stuck to the Shell, she was very adamant stating all our Lobsters are Fresh, to which I stated if they were they wouldn't stick to the shell, she requested I ask for her when I came in, which I did, she brought out a Fresh Live Lobster showed it to me, brought it to to the kitchen to be cooked & it came out 10 minutes later, water in the plate, fresh & flavorful. I thought it was settled until I came in Wednesday, 7/31, the server took my order, I went to my car to retrieve my glasses, sat down & the Lobster was served to me within 90 seconds of giving my order. As soon as it was served, I noticed the dry plate, I cracked open the claw, it was difficult to remove the Meat as it was stuck to the Shell, I called the server asking to see the Manager, she came out stating "Oh, you again, I thought we straightened this out the last time", I showed her the dry plate & the Lobster stuck to the Shell, stating this was reheated in the microwave, she went on shouting "We don't use the microwave, it's nowhere near the Lobsters" and she left. She was likely right, when I turned the Lobster over it was Hot to the Touch & Bone Dry, indicative of a Lobster that was reheated. The other Claw was like Rubber & Tasteless, as was the Tail. Apparently, they cook the Lobsters before they're ordered, placing them on a lit burner in a pan, the only reason I would receive it in less than 90 seconds after I ordered it, dried out stuck to the Shell. One of the servers stated it was cooked too long in the steamer as the reason for the meat sticking to the shell, if she had any experience cooking she would know that the meat will not stick to the shell if steamed. The problem being, the Manager is inexperienced in cooking, how do you place someone in the position of Manager if they Do Not know how to cook? I retired after 33 years in perishable Meat & Seafood. She may think she can get over on someone...
