That reply feels very uninspiring. This is the 3rd time I have been to your establishment and have yet to leave satisfied. At my first visit the fish & chips were cooked very poorly. I don't even remember what I ordered the second visit.
You have a nice spot on that pond. With a couple decent sauces, honest food prep, and better server training, it could be a stellar restaurant. A place to hang out with friends and visitor in the off season. I currently go to Nokomo's instead.
What you call fish "quality" was a switch to a cheaper cut of fish. I ordered Mahi, for whatever reason you served me something else. I didn't send it back because we were there with friends and I didn't want to kill the good time we were having. You owe me a Mahi sandwich.
Sandwich "presentation" was not the issue, it was the complete lack of any flavor / sauce.
I ordered the Voodoo Ranger which is a higher alcohol beer. Expecting me to drink them both while cold borders on irresponsible.
The lack of water service. First proper hydration is important, and second, drinking water with your beer slows alcohol consumption.
To review: Your business failed at basic food service, food quality, food taste ( ie customer satisfaction ), beverage service, and now at followup customer service. Loose 1 star
The statement: "Your suggestions help us better understand our guests’ preferences" Are you really trying to tell me you didn't know customers expect good tasting food, attentive service, and prefer not to hammer down their beer just to have it cold?
Original post: Had lunch there with friends today. This place was not my choice. I have been there twice before and knew the food would be bland. I brought a sauce blend of chipolte avocado mayo and spicy chili crisp. I ordered the Mahi sandwich w/ fries and green beans. First off the fish appeared to be cod or some other white fish, not Mahi. Be warned the sandwich comes with fish, lettuce, tomato, bun, but zero sauce. OK for me since I brought enough for me, my wife, and any others who like flavor. I put it on the sandwich and the fries. The fries, and green beans were cooked well. I ordered a beer, and they brought me two. IF, they are 2 for 1 on a 90* day, it would have been nice to get them one at a time.
All in all it could have been worse, and could have been better. I should not have to season my own meal or drink warm beer. The restaurant was nearly empty but the waitress never refilled our...
Read moreThis location is drastically different from the one in Lakewood Ranch. I’ve always gotten crazy good service in LWR no matter what server I had and never had a bad meal. I really don’t recommend Venice though if you want a good experience. The hostess quoted us 15 minutes (even though there was a lot of empty tables) and we ended up waiting 30 minutes. I overheard the waitress saying things like “I just work here”, was gossiping to coworkers about customers, and was hardly at the stand. I approached a different staff member how much longer the wait would be and we were seated immediately. Also, the couple across from my family and I were arguing, swearing, and close to fighting. I saw a few tables leave because of the scene and notified staff. That happens and I understand but was shocked that staff didn’t notice considering the amount of employees that walked by. We did eventually get moved though. Lastly, the food. The crab claws were super dry and bland as well as the fries being soggy. I asked for some drawn butter to hopefully help but no such luck. We had to constantly ask for things like silverware, refills on water, and even the check. Another server even came by, took the cocktail sauce off our table while we were still eating, and my Dad saw her put it in the fridge without cleaning it. Yikes. We told Dylan, our server, about the experience and he said that he could offer us a cake on the house but didn’t want to take off the claws for the inconvenience of the visit. Our bill was well over $100 so that was a little disappointing. Super unprofessional and won’t be...
Read moreExtremely disappointed by the way they handled a miscommunication on their end.
They offer 1 soft shell crab for $20 or 2 for $37. I ordered the 2 crabs and asked for them to be prepared both ways as offered, sautéed and fried, and the waitress confirmed. I double checked with her just to make sure she understood my order with wanting each crab prepared the 2 different ways they make them. She confirmed, reiterating one fried and one sautéed.
When my order came, they were both fried. I mentioned that I asked for each crab to be prepared both ways, and was then informed that they have to make both crabs the same way. I explained that when I put my order in I asked for two styles, with confirmation from the waitress.
When the manager came out, all that was offered was to charge me for a 3rd dinner (an additional $20) for me to get a crab made sautéed.
Honestly, I would have preferred sautéed instead of fried anyways so it's even more disappointing that the 2 crabs I got were both fried. Our entire party of 12 heard me confirm with the waitress multiple times that I was getting 2 different preparations of the crab, so my main complaint was the fact that the waitress denied it once the food was brought to our table, and the only way the manager offered to rectify the situation was to charge me for...
