We have hit this place up a number of times over the years as it is close by to where we stay. I was shocked to see some of the reviews on google as we have always had good experiences. We got there a bit before it got real busy and were seated right away. The waiter took the table seated 1 minute after us first and then came right to us and got drink orders. That is about the only slight in service if you'd call it that. Waiter was very nice, down to earth and fun to talk to. We all ordered and food came out very quickly. It was all-you-can-eat rib night, and that is what I had. Ribs were good. Sauce was decent...could have had a bit more flavor, but not bad at all. Most places I've had all-you-can-eat ribs at usually bring out like 3 ribs at a time. Here, they would bring out a half-rack or so at a time, and they would just go by and drop them on your plate - you didn't have to wait for the waiter, wait for the re-order to go in and them to come out. BBQ Baked beans and Applesauce were the sides I chose...both fine. Cornbread was great! Wife had BBQ chicken and liked it. If they had grilled cheese on the menu (kids menu) then my oldest would have been happy, but not sure if anyone can satisfy her picky tastes. Youngest was quite happy.
Like most places, drink prices are high, but free refills. However the prices seemed reasonable and the portions decent. The dessert prices were not sky-high like most places tend to do.
All-in-all, a good experience and am glad...
Read moreWe found a gold mine, in the Gold Rush BBQ Restaurant! The food where to begin? I guess with the fried pickle chips appetizer with regular ranch and spicy dipping sauce, they were very good. But LOTS of people ordered the onion strings, and they all but licked their plates clean too! Our pickle chips were also crispy and tasty! My husband and son both got the chopped pork sandwich with cole slaw and fries. I ordered the St Louis ribs with collard greens and sweet potato fries. The collard green, so good, the ribs, loaded with all the crispy sticky pieces I love and meaty! The fries, I love me some sweet potatoes, any way I can get them, these come with Susie's sweet dipping sauce. I brought the rest of this dipping sauce home with us. I am sure I will find something to dip in it or spread it on, I am not parting with this liquid gold! I have had to stake my claim on this stuff though. My husband is thinking of jumping my claim, he is thinking about what he can use it on?
Would we come again? Are you kidding? We will be here anytime we are near it! The word is out on it. Everyone knows about it and comes here for BBQ.
Service? The service is fast and friendly. Tables cleaned quickly and efficiently. They know their stuff here!
Made it back for Mother's Day, what a nice time to celebrate with family and not have to cook and clean! This may very well become our regular celebration...
Read moreSo I had to give 2 stars for service because we actually received boxes with food in it and they answer the phone when called. We were craving some good bbq and thought we knew right where to order from (stuck at work so a coworker used her DoorDash). We ordered our food and it arrived warm however my chopped pork sandwich with extra sauce and a side of Mac-n-cheese was quite sad to see. The “side” of Mac-n-cheese was maybe about 4 tbsp worth (10-12 noodles) on a cup and the “extra sauce” must have been interpreted incorrectly as my incredibly dry pork arrived with a small nickel sized squirt of sauce that covered a couple of the tiny chopped pieces. The chicken my coworker ordered was similar, hers, they definitely forgot any sauce altogether (or it was so old it had all dried up and wasn’t recognizable) and definitely no sauce on the side (we double triple checked the bag just in case).
I called Gold Rush to ask what could have happened and the kid suggested we order more food such as a side or drink and he would send a bunch of sauce… it was a great try for him but all those service fees and delivery plus another order without guarantee they can follow the same instructions a second time seemed a bit it is a stretch. $40 lost because the food was not edible and I understand that $12 of that was delivery fees but still, we just wanted to get some food while...
