Venice Community Center — Attraction in Venice

My wife and I went here to see the Edwards Twins. From Las Vegas they do impressions of famous people. Nov. 18, 2024. The first half was pretty bad. For the most part they did not sound much like the famous people. It was definitely not Christmas music. The second half was better with the impression of Italian opera singers and Barbara Streisand. Then they ruined the whole show when one brother was dressed as a woman took his clothes off to prove some stupid point. I realize an impressionist will dress the part! That's ok. However, the song about the evil dad that didn't approve cross dressing etc. was ugly and sickening. Then he takes off the dress down to a tiny bikini bottom that was repulsive. Left us with a bad taste and won't go back again to any show. I'm not a prude but don't strip down in front of my wife. Really pathetic of Venice community center to allow that unnecessary nonsense! The center contacted me and explained things. The center rents the room out and has nothing to do with the shows. She contacted the Edwards Twins and expressed the concerns. I along with many others that attended the Elvis show on January 6th, were very disappointed and upset regarding the seating for this show. Those of us that paid for VIP seats had none!! No one seemed to be in charge. One lady that may work there or for the event company attempted to add a row of chairs in front of the 1st row where people were already sitting. Of course they became very mad and upset. One elderly gentleman raised his cane to strike the elderly woman in front of him, my husband stopped him right away and even offered to give up his seat to this man, but he in turn shook his cane at my husband! I know in the past when I have gotten VIP seats our names were on a piece of paper on the chairs. What happened this time? I certainly hope this does not happen again! ...

We were hired to provide our DJ services for a bride and groom at this location. The venue was very neat, clean and the gentlemen working the facility was great. I think his name is Paul. Loading and Unloading for us was a breeze. If you're having an event and looking for a place in the Venice area. I would recommend this venue. Only minor issue I had was that I wanted to visit the facility a couple of weeks in advance on a Saturday because I was driving up from Cape Coral and they are closed on that day but they were extremely accommodating with making sure I had power were I was...
