Corrales Mexican Food To Go — Restaurant in Ventura

So delicious when it's early morning or later in the day! This is truly a gem in Ventura County with 2 locations in Ventura CA. Wish they would put one in TO/Westlake so I can go more often. But when I get the itch, it's always worth making a 45 min Corrales run.

They have the Best breakfast burritos. My fav is the bacon egg & cheese with their homemade salsa loaded inside the burrito. Most people ask for extra salsa on the side but they get charged more for that. THE SECRET: ask them to add it inside the burrito & then get the standard salsa cups on the side. BOOM!!

When it's lunch time, my go to burrito is their CARNE ASADA 4 way burrito (and yes, with salsa loaded inside) 4 way for this location means all 4 main ingredients: Meat, Rice, Beans & Cheese. If you don't one of those, then customize it. Make it "Your Way"

Other fav alternatives: chicken tacos WOW and their corn "burritos" with red salsa. These are tightly wrapped corn tortilla bean burritos deep fried and topped with a very delicious red sauce & cheese. Oh my!!

The nostalgic silhouette of what looks to be a former Taco Bell spot has left me with dehydration and a sodium injection for the rest of the year. It used to be a place I enjoyed to get chicken tacos, Chile rellenos, cheese enchiladas, rolled tacos and the SALSA, Oh the Salsa. EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT THE SALSA. I don't know what happened but it's saltyy. I judge a place by it's Horchata and it makes a lot of sense that they serve Ole fountain style. 😑 Okay, let's talk burritos. I waited all day to have a glorious burrito, but what I paid $17 for was not it. $12 for a base burrito, adding sliced avo $3 (I got a dollop of GUAC NOT SLICED AVOS) $2 per Tbs of Sour Cream (I could have bought a dollop of Daisy). I didn't get a good bite of meat until midway, but when I did it was OLD SALTY MEAT. Not freshly made with love 💔. HEARTBREAKING that we threw them away and spent almost $40 after tax....

I love coming here regularly . It's one of my favorite burrito places. However, today I had went to go pick up my burritos and there was a homeless man outside who had asked me nicely for some change and even apologized for "bothering" me. I gave him what I had and went into he line to pay. As I got to the window I had asked the woman if I could add to my order a meal for the homeless man. Paying it forward. But the response I got was shocking. I was denied my right to purchase more food for someone else and was told that he wasnt allowed to sit there and the reason why I couldn't buy him food was because he was going to stay there and bother more people. And she told him to leave. I was very disappointed with the lack of compassion. Very unhappy. Multiple people also heard this...
