The Anthony Downtown at The BB Club — Restaurant in Vicksburg

We had the Philly cheesesteak, spicy shrimp sandwich and a pizza. We drank tea and had pork rinds. Everything we had was sweet except for the fries for some odd reason. The sweet tea here is some of the best I have had. The fries are great. My Philly sandwich had tenDer meat and good cheese. It also came with what I would describe as a sweek bar b q sauce. I love Philly cheesesteaks. Im not sure what this was, I have never had a sweet one before. I wouldn't eat this again. I also had half of the spicy shrimp poboy. Once again it was sweet, not spicy. Should be called the sweet shrimp poboy. The shrimp were cooked perfectly though. We added hot sauce to the poboy that made it better. I tried a slice of pizza. Not bad just wasn't great. The sauce tastes hollow. It was missing something. The waitstaff was great and the views of the golf course we're nice. This is the only restaurant in Mississippi we have ever dined at. ...

This was the first time my family has been to The Anthony since April of last year. We called ahead a few days ago to make a reservation for 12. When we arrived, they were not prepared for us because the hostess said that no one gave them a time or amount of people to expect. Our Waiter, Kalif, was FABULOUS. He was as attentive as he could be considering he was the ONLY waiter in the restaurant due to a party happening in the other room. Our appetizers came out late with our food. Our drinks were served in small water classes because I'm assuming there weren't enough regular glasses due to the party. The majority of our party of 12 ordered burgers. They were all charred and the fries were burnt as well. I'm by no means complaining just to complain. I truly want business in Vicksburg to do well. My friend and I went for a late lunch, and it was a great experience, and our waitress, Pamela, was fantastic. We started out with the jalapeño pimento cheese beignets. I really enjoyed them elegiac the brown mustard with it; my friend didn't love the tomato topping much, though. Then I decided I wanted to try the sausage gravy with biscuit chips. I really enjoyed this appetizer; it was unique and delicious. I had shrimp tacos for lunch, and she had the wings. The tacos were a little bit too spicy, for me, but my husband said they must have been prepared a little differently. He said his weren't nearly that spicy. Either way, they were delicious, but I would try something else next time. Great place. Can't wait to try out some more...
