Delicious and authentic Thai food! My wife and I love Thai cuisine and culture and wanted to serve something a little more interesting than fish and chicken at our rehearsal dinner so we asked Chiang Mai to cater for us! Pat Murphy, the owner, worked with us on our budget while also getting and excellent variety of appetizers and entrées! He was also able to accommodate all the allergies in our party (including fish, gluten and nut allergies). Pat did offer to provide plates and utensils for an additional fee which we opted out of. He was extremely professional and prompt to respond to emails. They offered to drop off and set up the food with chaffing dishes as well as pick up them afterwards. The set up took a little longer than we expected and so if I were to order again would recommend requesting they come a little earlier. They provided generous portions of food as well as the accoutrement such as limes, peanuts and sprouts. The food was delicious and authentically prepared by the head chef and Pat’s wife, who is from Thailand, and was well appreciated by all of our guests! I would absolutely recommend Chiang Mai Thai for a flavorful dinner out or special catered event! They were fabulous...
Read moreWe stayed in Victor for 8 days; we went to Chiang Mai 3 of those nights for dinner. This thai food is the real deal meaning it made me think back to the times I was in Thailand and the many street meals I had. Yes Teton Thai in Driggs is good though a bit upscale for my taste. The atmosphere at Chiang Mai is simple and totally relaxed. It is connected to a brew pub so the beer you can order from your table is excellent. But let me get back to the food. Don't leave without ordering the fried dumplings. You will want a second order I guarantee. The Khao Soi was something I had never seen on an American Thai menu. It is excellent. I want to put a plug in for the Pad Kra Pow, normally a good but pedestrian Thai meal; this version has something in it that makes it especially yummy. On the third night I had the special, a ginger stir fry that was also good. Beyond that, the server was friendly, knowledgable and remembered us when we returned. He made us feel like we...

I am half Thai through my mom's side so I grew up eating a lot of authentic Thai foods (not the Americanized stuff). I was super excited to try this place out because I haven't had my mom's cooking in years. However, the khao soi was way too creamy for my tastes. I could practically taste the coconut milk in every bite - YUCK. If you're familiar with Thai food maybe customize it to your liking. I didn't think to do so because I've never had it prepared with that much coconut milk. Super disappointed. I was craving this so much but it was just way too disgusting to finish. I took 3 bites and had to toss it. The white tourists seem to love the way the food is prepared (maybe because they don't know any better or haven't tried the real good stuff?) but as a native, I'll have to pass.
Edit: I'm reading so many reviews raving about the food especially the khao soi. Are we eating the...
