They've opened a brewery and have done that well. The beer is great! Kolsch, Vandelay (?), the sour (if you like it), and the others have all been really enjoyed by my crew and myself. On to the atmosphere: My God please move the bluetooth source closer to the speaker. Having country music blasted into me (tolerable, as needed) is made nigh unbearable by cutting in and out like a bad cell phone connection. I was sorely tempted to climb up on the chair and unplug the speaker but felt that would be impolite at best and would get us pitched at worst. Might have been a real bummer if the food was as good as the beer, but might have been actually really nice given that the food was decidedly NOT as good as the beer. Cold meatballs, salad straight out of a bag, pasta from the bag next to it (?), beer and cheese soup that tasted like beer.. and cheese.. hmm. Maybe we'll try again in a few months once the growing pains have been addressed. Maybe not, and I know we wouldn't be missed. A party of 4. 6 beers, an app and cup of soup, and 4 entrees. $160 including a 20% tip for the privilege. I kind of feel insulted. Full disclosure: The German Potato salad (warm like a GPS should be, not cold like the waiter indicated) was good if somewhat undercooked.
Come for a beer, leave for the food somewhere else.
But please please...
Read moreTerrible food for a ridiculously high price. My husband and I got fried pickles and both did a “build your own burger”. Both burgers were made incorrectly. We both requested, and were charged for, bacon, which I did not receive. The quality of the meat was trash. The fries were trash. The burgers were undercooked, which is hard to do when they are smashed burgers… but they somehow still managed to mess it up. Don’t waste your time or money. Two burgers (each with an additional $2 for the bacon that only one burger had) and fried pickles, plus the tip, cost over $60. I regret even leaving the tip, especially as the service was not that great and it was a take out order. I’m a former server so I always tip, even on take out, but I sincerely wish I could get the money back. It was that bad. I’d give it 0 stars if that was an option. If you insist on eating here, it may be worth getting hammered first. We didn’t drink but maybe it would’ve made the food taste better and I wouldn’t be so annoyed that I wasted $60.
Also, just to add, the owner appears to have personally attacked other reviewers who have left negative reviews. That should tell you everything you need to know...
Read moreBeer wasn't bad. But service? We did our best:: looked down submissively when ordering beer; paused before asking to see a food menu; then watched the tall brunette serve multiple other customers (who arrived after us) before she.... She took our menu, gave it to other customers and put in their food order, neglecting to ever take our order. Wow! A new level of egregious neglect in the service industry. Blatant skullduggery? Who knows the extent of her emotional lability.... I wish I could report that we were drunk and obnoxious. But alas, we were not. But this bartender (possibly overworked?) had some serious issues. Thankfully, we didn't have to eat there or spend more money. She made our decision pretty easy. Lot of good options in town. Don't put up with surly...
